< VALERIE’S HOME >
“He did that?” Carmen asked even as she and Chloe sat on the bed in her room.
” Yes. You don’t think that he’s really into me, I mean Valerie” Chloe asked.
“Valerie have often return home complaining about how Bryan messed with her or about how he teased her but never about him being in love with her. He must be messing with you like he always does, so don’t pay him any attention” Carmen told her.
“But you should pay attention to tonight dinner. Leo and Bryan isn’t ruled out from being a suspect” Carmen added and she nodded.
“I will have that in mind and about the engagement, it wouldn’t really fall through right?” Chloe asked.
“I doubt that since Leo doesn’t want it and you also do not want it then it might end up being cancelled ” Carmen replied which got her feeling assured.
The door to her room open revealing Stephanie who marched into the room looking triumphant.
“And since when did you and the maid get close?” Stephanie asked eyeing Carmen.
“Since the day you were born” Chloe replied and that got Carmen chuckling some thing Stephanie noticed.
“Get out Carmen!” She ordered which Carmen immediately did.
“If you are here to gloat about some thing then I suggest you leave cause I have to get ready tonight’s outing” Chloe said airily
“You must really be excited on going to Leo’s home but let me assure you that you will never get to win Leo’s heart” Stephanie said having that stupid smirk on her face.
“And you can be rest assured that I certainly don’t want his heart. You both belong together, you suit each other” Chloe replied.
“And after assessing every thing, I don’t think my parents knows about your relationship with Leo or do they?” Chloe added.
“They don’t and don’t you think of telling them or I will ….”
“Will what? You seem to have forgotten about this morning event or do I need to show you?” Chloe asked cutting her off.
“You don’t frighten me Valerie” Stephanie said with out fear.
“I might not frighten you since have always allowed you to bully me in the past but not anymore and you should be scared of me now cause am a very dangerous person” Chloe said even as Stephanie confidence shrink a bit.
“You…..” Stephanie didn’t get to finish her sentence when Valerie’s mom walk into the room, prepared for the dinner.
“My God! Why aren’t you dressed yet?” Brenda Willow yelled at her.
Chloe stared at Valerie mom then at Stephanie before smiling mischievously.
“It’s cause I was talking to Stephanie” Chloe said wrapping her arms around Stephanie.
“What exactly are you two talking about?” Brenda asked.
“Well you see, I have this splitting headache and I was hoping Stephanie could go to the dinner instead of me” Chloe suggested while Stephanie glared at her.
“Why would Stephanie go to the dinner, she’s not you!” Brenda returned fiercely.
“But she’s my cousin and could go in my stead and besides, she’s close friends to Bryan and Leo” Chloe said now starring at Stephanie.
“Quit with the nonsense and go get ready. She might be your cousin but she’s not you and will never be you. You are the one engaged to Leo and not her, so get ready and meet me down stairs” Brenda said before leaving the room.
Chloe let go of Stephanie before Stephanie could push her hand away.
“What was that about? Why did you say those things to her?” Stephanie asked.
“You once told me that you wanted every thing I own well I did that to put you in your place” Chloe said.
“You Bîtch!”
“You are nothing Stephanie, no matter how you sweet talk my mom and dad, you will never be anything. You saw the way my mom dismissed you a while ago? It shows how little you mean to them which is very funny to me” Chloe added.
“You must be enjoying this right?”Stephanie asked.
“I would be lying if I said am not. Wake up cousin, no matter what you do to take my place you won’t succeed because you are a nobody. Get out, I have to get ready for tonight dinner” Chloe replied and giving her a look which could make one die if looks could kill, she stomped out of the room.

< TORRES MANSION >
Since Valerie’s father isn’t back from his business trip, Chloe and Valerie mom attended the dinner on their own.
Just like she thought, Leo was waiting dutifully with his parents and there was no sign of Bryan.
After the introduction were made, they all went to the dinner room where the maid served them delicious food.
Chloe couldn’t deny the fact that the Torres Family had good cook in their house.
She was enjoying the oyster soup when the discussion about their engagement began.
“When do you think will be the perfect date for their engagement party ?” Mary Torres asked.
“Well am thinking we should leave that decision to Valerie father” Brenda replied.
“But he’s currently on a trip, why don’t we just ask the kids, after all they are the ones getting engaged” Jeremy Torres said.
Chloe recieve a text on her phone and she picked it up to read the message.

On reading the text, Chloe stared at Leo who had sent the text to her and gave her a look which told her that she must do as he says.
“What do you think Valerie? ” Jeremy Torres asked and immediately she forced a smile on her face.
“Since Leo and I are very much in love having the engagement soon will be best” Chloe said.
“Really? Then we will pick a date as soon as we can” Jeremy said in excitement.
This will teach you not to tell me what to do. Chloe thought even as she stared at Leo who was glaring at her.
