< FIELD >
Judy and Chloe sat amongst the other students in the filed bench while they watch Pearl get ready for the three legged race.
“Why is Pearl the only one with out a partner?” Chloe asked
“That’s because she’s waiting for David ” Judy replied.
“Did David pick her?” Chloe asked again.
“He didn’t directly but you know how much of a flirt he is, he already brought her hopes up that am sure she won’t want to do the three legged race with any one else but him” Judy replied and just then David joined the participant but he wasn’t alone cause he had a girl from their team with him.
“Who is she?” Chloe asked.
“The girl David is currently dating” Judy replied sighing out slowly.
“If you knew about him dating some one else, you could have prevented this” Chloe said to Judy.
“I just found out this morning and I didn’t want to shatter her hopes by being the one who tells her about it, she needs to see it herself to believe” Judy replied while Chloe nodded sadly.
“But David is a jerk!”
“Not David alone, Luke, Bryan and Lucas are all jerks!” Judy muttered in anger.
“We better go meet her” Chloe added when they saw Pearl heading to the rest room.
They found her crying her eyes out in one of the cubicle.
After much persuasion, she finally came out moving to the tap to wash her face.
“You shouldn’t let David get you down” Chloe said tapping her back gently.
“But it hurts. I thought he’s begining to fancy me but then he already has a girlfriend and she turns out to be one of the junior students” Pearl replied wiping the remnant of tears on her face.
“David is a playboy, he won’t ever be serious with anyone. You should have put that in mind before falling for him” Judy admonish.
“If I had control over my heart then I wouldn’t be in love with him. You can’t tell your heart who to love Judy” she said holding back her tears.
“It’s okay. You should try to cheer up, don’t let him see how much you hurt” Chloe told her still patting her back.
Just then they heard the intercom buzz on the next race taking up.
“I think they are calling for me” Judy replied and Pearl wipe her eyes and putting on the face cap she brought, they all left the rest room.

While Judy went to join the people participating in the 100m race. Pearl and Chloe found it hard to find a spot to seat and when they did, it was beside Bryan and Luke.
She has hardly spoken to him ever since that incident at Valerie’s home and he seem to ignore her too which got her feeling down some times but it will all change when she ends up winning the marathon.
“The three legged race, did we win?” She asked striking a conversation with him but he ignored her while Luke replied.
“Of course! David might be useless in all things but he knows what he is doing when it comes to that game”
Chloe gave him a nervous smile in return before watching Judy’s game.
The whistle was blown and the participants began to run.
“Hope she wins” Luke said out in anticipation.
Every one was focused on the game apart from Chloe who kept starring at Bryan.
Why is he ignoring me? She thought as she heard every one scream out in excitement cause Judy won the female race for their team.
“Don’t underestimate Judy” Pearl said directing it to Luke who shrugged in return.
While every one began to disperse for the next location of the game, Chloe took hold of Bryan hand when he stood up to leave.
“I heard you will be joining in on the basket ball match, just want to wish you luck” she said slowly.
“Thanks” was the only reply he gave before walking off.

< EMPTY CLASS >
“How do I look?” Judy who was now sheathe in a blue lovely gown and whose face is accentuated with make up, giving her a dazzling look asked her friends who were all quiet.
“Is it that bad?” Judy asked pulling up the long folds of the gown.
“Bad? Definitely not! You look enchanting” Pearl gushed out in excitement.
“I never knew you had a lovely skin and that’s all thanks to your baggy shirts and trousers” Mira who had come to help with Judy’s contest commented.
“You look…… You will surely win today’s game” Chloe let out gawking at her friend.
“You really think so?” Judy asked still unsure while the make up artist Judy had called over kept fussing over her hair.
“Of course, you will” Chloe replied giving her a thumbs up.

< SCHOOL HALL >
“Am sure she’s gonna make us lose, you should have chosen a pretty girl ” Luke complained.
“Just give her a break, she might make our jaw drop like she said” David replied while Bryan and Lucas kept shut.
The Emcee arrived and for a while he talked about the two team and when that was over, he called out team Diamond queen who turned out to be Stephanie.
Stephanie stride out in a figure hugging red gown which made her look sëxy and earned her a lot of attention from the guys.
She searched around the whole place for Leo but there was no sign of him and though that got her a bit angry, it didn’t stop her from smiling and waving to her team members.
And when team Alpha was finally called, Judy silently said a prayer before strolling outside in her enchanting blue dress.
She had only agreed to do this contest to shut Luke’s mouth but being the centre of attraction got her feeling nervous.
She slowly made her way to the podium while waving at her team members who were all gawking at her.
Did her friends lie to her? Isn’t she beautiful enough? She thought.
“You are freaking beautiful!” A students from the other team yelled out startling Judy.
“You are beautiful!” Her team mates began to scream out and she could tell that they weren’t lying due to the admiring gaze they sent her way.
“What have you got to say?” David asked Luke whose jaw was open just at seeing Judy’s transformation.
“You might as well close that for him” Lucas said to David who help Luke close his mouth startling him back to reality since he had been lost starring at Judy.
