< Royal Palace >
“Really? You will end this current engagement and marry the minister daughter?” The mayor asked.
“I see no reason why I shouldn’t…” Reagan stopped talking when he realised someone was listening in on them.
Moving towards it, he open the door and was surprised to see Ciara there and judging by the look in her eyes, she must have heard what he said.
“Have someone been….” The mayor stop when he saw who it was.
“I only came to see you about something but it seems like you are busy, I will come back later ” Ciara said as she made to leave but he took hold of her hand.
“Stay. The mayor is about to leave” Reagan stated and getting the cue, the mayor quickly left the room.
“Did you hear it?” Reagan asked.
“I did” she replied truthfully.
“Didn’t your parents ever tell you to never eaves….”
“Why shouldn’t I eavesdrop when it has to do with me” she said cutting him off abruptly.
“Let me just ask you one thing. You choosing to end the engagement with me, Is it because you love the minister daughter, I heard that she’s pretty and she was once your girlfriend ” she asked.
“I’d rather not reply that” he said wanting to leave but she stood in his path.
“Answer me, Reagan” she demanded.
“No one demands anything from me not even you!” He growled out angrily and walk past her.
As soon as he left, Ciara crouch on the floor, crying her eyes out.
She didn’t know why she’s crying when she’s meant to be happy.
It’s the one thing she has been longing for. To leave Reagan and this d@mn place but why did she feel sad and a feeling of losing something very important.
“That’s because you love him” a voice said to her and for a while she denied it until she finally accept the truth.
She’s in love with Reagan but he doesn’t love her…she thought as she wipe her tears.
“You wouldn’t know if you don’t tell him about it” That voice said to her again and though it took a while for her to decide, she chose to tell him the truth.
It’s been an hour since he left her alone and not knowing where he is, she went to look for him only to run into Velvet.
“Am glad I saw you. Reagan must have told you about your engagement being cancelled right?” Velvet asked.
“How do you know that?” Ciara asked in return.
“Reagan told me. After all he will be marrying me and so it’s only right that I know little things. For example, you”
“Little things?” Ciara asked.
“Don’t be offended, it’s just the way Reagan and I think about you” Velvet replied.
“Where’s Reagan, I need to talk to him” Ciara asked.
“Well am going to see him too, you can come with me but I doubt if he would want to see you” Velvet replied and began to walk off.
Ciara followed and she led her to a room which had Reagan and the queen mother in it.
“And why is she here?” The queen asked.
“To see His Majesty, your highness” Velvet replied as she took a seat leaving Ciara standing and feeling like an outsider.
“Can I have a word with…”
“Can’t you see that we are in the middle of something?” The queen asked cutting her off but Ciara ignored her. Her gaze focused on Reagan alone.
“It won’t take a while, I just need to speak to…”
“Didn’t you hear the queen. Get out Ciara!” Reagan yelled startling her and immediately she left the room.
She got back to her room, forcing herself not to cry but she couldn’t hold it in.
It was some time later that she heard the knock on her door, she went to open only to see two guards there.
“What can I help you with?” Ciara asked
“We’ve been ordered by his Majesty to help you leave the palace” one of them replied.
“Leave? Did he really ordered that?” Ciara asked and they nodded.
“I doubt that, I will ask him…”
“You can’t since his Majesty is busy with lady Velvet” Willow said as he approach them.
“Does Reagan really wants me to leave ?” Ciara asked and slowly he nodded in reply.
Going back into the room she began packing her things and though it took an hour for her to finish, she finally did.
Putting her phone and the letter she wrote in a safe place, she left the room and the guards led her to a waiting car downstairs.
She had thought that Reagan might change his mind and stop the whole thing but even when the car drove out of the palace there was no sign of him.
“Can you lend me your phone?” Ciara asked the guard and they gave it to her.
She dialed Laura’s number and on the third ring, Laura answered the call.
“What’s going on? Where are you?” Laura asked.
“Have left the palace” she replied and though it took a while, she finally calmed Laura.
” I know you feel it’s unfair but it’s the best thing for Reagan and I, and don’t even think of leaving the palace just to come after me. I need you to be there to watch over him for me. You are the only one I can trust with it and also I left my phone and a letter in my room” she said explaining to Laura where she had put it.
“If anything happens to me, give it to Reagan and….” Ciara was blinded by the head light of a truck which was coming towards them.
The guard swivel out of the way only to fall down the hill.
“Hello, What’s wrong? Ciara? Are you okay? Talk to me? What the heck is happening over there!” Laura kept asking on the phone but the people in the car were unconscious and injured.

< Royal Palace ~ Two Weeks Later >
After a busy day of work, Bethany retired to her room only to find It filled with flowers.
“When did he do this?” She muttered as she went to pick up a rose on her desk.
Opening the letter which was attached to it, she read it’s content.
★ WHILE ATTENDING A BORING ROYAL CEREMONY TODAY, I NOTICE THE ROSE AND THEY MADE ME THINK OF YOU. I HOPE THAT WITH YOU SEEING IT IN YOUR ROOM, YOU WILL ALSO THINK OF ME AND ALSO OF WHAT I ASKED YOU★
Bethany let out a sigh when she recalled the day he asked her to be his girlfriend.
She wouldn’t deny that he’s a very skilled guy. In about a week, he’s wined and dined his way into her heart.
She’s clearly head over heels for him but she’s scared of committing herself to him.
What if it’s all a joke to him? She didn’t want to lose her pride and she also doesn’t want to get hurt.
The best thing for her right now is to keep pushing him off till he realise that there can’t be a thing between them.

< Garden >
“So, have you come to a decision?” Rico asked Laura as they both stood under a tree.
“I can’t do it ?” Laura said.
“But why? You told me that you would help me” Rico countered.
“And I will if you had told me to help you with something else but this is….I can’t do it” Laura replied.
“You only have to pretend to be my girlfriend for a while, it’s not for real”
“But who on earth is this girl and why do you insist that I pretend to be your girlfriend just to get her out of the way ” Laura asked.
“She’s my ex and she insists on having me back which is something I don’t want”
“Then tell it straight to her and…”
“Have done that but Carina is someone who doesn’t listen. She believes that I still feel something for her and the main reason for that is that am still single. If I have a girlfriend, she certainly will give up which is why I need you” Rico said cutting her off.
“If you are worried about us kissing and other things, you don’t have to since I will do my best to avoid that. All you have to do is to act like a girl who’s crazily in love with me. Help me out on this” Rico implored and seeing the troubled look on his face, she found herself agreeing to help him.
“Thanks a lot. So, what about Ciara? Any news?” Rico asked.
“It’s still the same, she’s still in a coma” Laura replied looking very sad.

< Hospital >
As soon as the car stop. Reagan got out of it, running into the hospital while the guards accompanying him followed.
Going straight to Ciara’s ward, he got there only to see her chatting away with the doctor.
“You are finally here your Majesty” The doctor said as he gave him a bow.
His gaze solely on Ciara, he walk towards her and gave her a hug.
“These past two weeks have been hell without you” he whispered and held her more tightly.
“You are choking me” Ciara said and he let her go.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“I am and it’s time you tell me who the hell you are?” Ciara asked startling him.
