Chapter-Nineteen
Si-u was on the phone with ji-ho as she was busy cooking in the kitchen.
“Are you serious?” she laughed.” How is mom and everyone over there?…….and you? What about the baby, are you both eating well?………… Are you sure? I can call Mom to ask…..okay, please don’t stress yourself too much……I will ” She laughs and the doorbell rings.” Let me see who is at the door”. She left to the door and beeped through the tiny hole and hasped in surprise.
📞”Who is it?” ji-ho asked from the phone.
📞”Is Baek-hyun”. she replied quietly.
📞”Baek-Hyun? Why is he here?”
📞”I don’t know, probably to ask about you”.
📞” You know what, don’t tell him anything, just let him in, I will speak to you later”. She hung up. Si-u let out a deep breath and then opened the door smiling.
“Hey, Baek-Hyun, sorry I kept you waiting, I was busy in the kitchen”. she said.
” Is ok”. he enters.
“Please sit”. she offered and he sat down. ” what can I get you?”.
“Nothing am fine”.
” Are you sure?” she asked.
“Yes, am fine, you don’t need to worry”.
” Okay, hold on a sec, let me turn off the gas” ” She rushed to the kitchen and then came back and sat down facing him.
“You already know why I am here, please tell me where ji-ho is, I really need to see her”. he said sincerely, and Si-u sighed.
” I understand, but I don’t know where she is, she didn’t tell me, she only texted me to say she is fine in the place she is”. she said.
“Why is she doing this? Why is she avoiding me? What did I do wrong?” he asked himself.
“Don’t be like that, am sure she will come back, you didn’t do anything wrong “.
” Then why is she not wanting to see me? Why is she pushing me away? I do understand what she is going through right now but I am also a victim, we promise to overcome this problem together,”. He sighs sadly, Si-u stares at him not knowing what to say
Byung-ho and Chan-yeol came over to Baek-Hyun’s house, and they were told he left some minutes ago, They sat down at the poolside operating their phones along with some snacks and a glass of juice, Not too long after, Baek-Hyun arrived and he was told his friends were are at the poolside.
“There you are”. Chan-yeol said immediately he caught sight of him walking in their direction looking paled.
” You don’t look so good, have you been doing well?” Byung-ho asked as Baek-Hyun sat down and relaxed his body on the chair.
“No, he doesn’t look so good to me, what’s up with you? Why are you like this?”. Chan-yeol asked.
” Tell us, man, what’s happening to you”
“Why can’t I find her, Why is she doing this to me”. Baek-Hyun asked himself sadly and his friends understood what he meant.
” You really don’t have to look like this, is not your fault”. Chan-yeol said.
“Yeah, we are sure, she will come back “.
” When!” he snapped and stood up quickly. “Everything was going smoothly and suddenly she just disappeared without a trace, Why did she even make that false video in the first place” he grunted. ” She knew she was leaving and she tricks me into going out on a picnic with her, her words and the kiss, was that her last goodbye to me?”
“Baek-Hyun, try and calm down, don’t hurt yourself “. Byung-ho said and they sighed.

Two days later, Si-u was at the supermarket shopping when a familiar voice interrupted her from behind.
” Si-u, right?”Min-jun asked smiling as Si-u turned in her direction.
“Hey”.
” I can see you came here for shopping as well”. she said and Si-u nodded.”Oh, I see” she smiled and started picking along with her.” I also came to shop as well because I will be entertaining Byung-ho at my house during this weekend”.
“Ok, that’s nice”. Si-u smiled forcedly at her.
” I know right” she laughs.”So, I was mainly to ask, how long have you known Byung-ho?” she asked.
“Um, I have known him right from the school where my big sis teaches”. she said and Min-jun frowned but managed to smile.
” Oh really? And you two don’t have anything with each other?”.
“I don’t understand”.
” I mean, you two never dated”.
“No, we are just mutual friends”. she said and Min-jun smiled. “Why all these questions?”.
“Oh, nothing, am just asking so that we won’t get into complications in the future, because I like Byung-ho, We met back in the state, and things didn’t work out well between us, but now that I am back, I want to make things right without having a third party”. she said.
” Okay, I wish you two the best of luck”.
“Thank you”
“Anyways, if there are no more words to say, I think I should take my leave “. Si-u said.
” Sure, but hope to meet sooner”. she said and Si-u smiled and walked away.
Days pass, and Baek-Hyun refuses to step out of his room, he keeps drinking and thinking about Ji-ho, and he sometimes goes out to where he and Ji-ho visited for fun, a lot of sweet memories of her were running through his head that he couldn’t help but cry in his room.
Mr.Dae-jung was trying to connect to his son after finding out he refused to go to the office
“Your son is testing my patience”. he said
” Don’t talk like that, instead of you going to his house to find out what happened”.
“Nothing happened to him, he is just been stupidly whining over a lady old enough to be his aunt” he yelled.
“Of course not, You made him like that because you chose your happiness over his, he is not a kid anymore, allow him to choose who he wants to be with,” she said
” I can see you are out of your mind, now I see where he has the wings to talk back at me because you made him so”.
“He is my only son and his priority is my only concern, if anything happens to my son, I will never forgive you”. she warned seriously and left for her room to get ready.
Byung-ho and chan-yeol were knocking on Baek-Hyun’s door for him to open up.
” Come on man, you can’t remain indoors forever “. Byung-ho said
” You guys leave me alone, I want to be left alone”. Baek-Hyun responds from his room.
“Seriously, it has been three days since you have locked up yourself in your room, and everyone is worried, please open up”. chan-yeol said and they sighed sadly.” What do we do?”
“I don’t know, am confused,” Byung-ho said and then his phone rang, It was Si-u calling.” Hey Si-u,” he said on the phone and Si-u’s voice came through the other end of the phone.
“Has he opened the door?” she asked.
“No, we are worried he will be in there forever, except Ji-ho comes over” he replied.
“I don’t know what to say”.
“Do you know where she is? I know you know something, please Si-u tell us where she is”.
“I can’t, she made me promise her not to let anyone know her whereabouts, especially Baek-Hyun “. she said with a sigh.” Am sorry Byung-ho, I wish I could help, I don’t want to break the promise I made to her”.
“Okay, I understand, but can you let her know the condition of Baek-Hyun “.
“Sure, I will, bye” they hung up.
“What did she say?” Chan-yeol asked and Byung-ho sighed.
“Nothing helpful”. he replied and returned to the door as they kept on knocking. ” Baek-Hyun, please open up”.
“He is so stubborn”. He said and then Mrs. I-jun entered looking worried and they greeted her.
” Where is Baek-Hyun? she asked.
“Still in his room, he has refused to open the door”. Chan-yeol said and Mrs. I-jun rushed to start hitting the door.
” Baek-Hyun, open up, please is your mother, please my son, open up the door” she sobbed and Byung-ho moved to calm her down.
“Is okay aunt, don’t cry”.
” I want my son back,” she said and just then the cook rushed in.
“I found the master key”. she said panting and Byung-ho took the keys from her.
” Thank you” ” He moves to the door and uses the key to unlock it and it opens, They rush inside quickly and was shocked to see Baek-Hyun lying lifelessly on the floor.
“BAEK-HYUN!” they screamed and rushed to him quickly.
An hour later, everyone was in panic as they kept wandering around the hospital hall waiting for the doctor’s report.
“What is taking the doctor in there so long? It has been an hour now”. Mrs. I-jun said sadly and Ha-jun sat next to her consoling her.
” Don’t worry Aunt, am sure he will be fine”. she said
“I hope so”. she sniffed, Then the doctor came out and they rushed to him.
” Doctor, how is my son? Is he fine?” Mr.Dae-jung asked intensely.
“Calm down everyone”. he said.
“Is my son alright?” Mrs. I-jun asked.
“Yes, is nothing to worry about”.
” Then, what is wrong with him? “Byung-ho asked.
” He is suffering from malnutrition”. he said and they were surprised.” But there is nothing to worry about when he wakes up just give him something to eat”. he advises.
“Can we see him now?”. Ha-jun asked
” Sure, he is asleep now, he will wake up soon, Don’t try to disturb him too much” he warned.
“Sure, Doctor, thank you very much,” Mr.Dae-jung said.
“Is ok, excuse me, everyone”. he left.
” I will just place an order for the food”. Chan-yeol said and they went inside the ward.
