Ethan walked into the office building with a moody sad face after getting down from the public bus.
Everyone who passed by noticed he wasn’t happy.
He walked to his office. Miss Ellie stood in front of his office door with her arms folded.
She seems angry.
“Why are you late?
Don’t you see the time now?”
Ellie asked.
“Am sorry…
Ethan replied.
“I had a lot of things on my mind and I didn’t notice the time had passed”
Jessica and Stephan were inside listening to their conversation.
“You know if Lauren Quinn hears about this, she is going to fire you”
A little smile appears on his face.
How I wish she knew Lauren Quinn is the cause of him being late”
“I don’t care… you can inform her if you want to”
He said and walked inside to meet Stephan and Jessica at the door eavesdropping.
Ethan looked at both of them for a while.
“Why are you late to work? This is 10 pm already”
Jessica asked.
“I thought you heard our conversation already”
Ethan replied and walked to his seat.
Jessica was surprised.
“Is everything okay? Ethan”
“Everything is fine with him, I guess he is just pretending”

The telephone rang on Jessica’s table. It’s Miss Lauren.
Jessica quickly grabs the telephone.
She nods as she answers.
“Alright, he will be at your office soon”
She said and dropped down the telephone.
Ethan stood up.
“There is no need to inform me, I already guess… Lauren Quinn needs me at her office”
He said before Jessica could talk and walked out.
“What’s wrong with him today? ”
Jessica wondered surprised at how he had been acting strangely.

Ethan walked into her office without knocking.
“Ellie.. I had already warned you about knocking before entering”
Lauren said as she focused on the project slide on her computer.
“It’s me, Ethan”
Ethan replied and walked to her, dragging a seat next to him.

“Why didn’t you knock?”
“Sorry about that…
What do you call me here for?”

“I just want to see your face today. See how you are doing and thank you for yesterday’s date”

He replied with no single smile on his face.

Ethan just nodded.
“So what are you working on?”
“Oh Yeah…
I have a project work to defend soon, I have to convince my investors about this project and prove to them that the business is going to work”

Ethan sighed and stood up. He walked to her seat and sat on the office table.
“We are at the office and I can’t talk about anything not relating to business”

He said and grabbed her computer. Lauren tried to take his hands off her computer system but Ethan was stronger.
He checked through the slide.
“I shouldn’t lie to you, this is perfect”
Ethan said. Lauren smile.

This will be able to convince them hundred percent”
Lauren took the computer system from his hands and placed it on the table.
She looked at Ethan at the eye.
“So now tell me, what’s wrong with you?
You can tell me anything right? You know if you are not happy, then am also not happy”
She teased him.

Ethan replied. “How am I going to tell her I have no money left on me cos I spent all of it on just a date we had”
He thought.

“Alright fine, since you can handle it on your own, it’s fine”

Ethan asked as his heart began to race.
“Yeah… Since you took me on one, I would also like to do the same”

Ethan breathed a sigh of relief on hearing that.
“So where are we going?”

Lauren keeps smiling as he watches him walk out.

A knock came on the door. Harry stood up and walked to the door.

Lauren was presenting her business proposal but the investors seemed unconvinced and not interested. She was sad as she noticed the looks on their faces.
“I don’t think we can invest in this… It’s money-wasting and time-consuming”
One of the investors said.
Ethan walked in like he was there to save the day.
“Actually it’s worth investing money in even tho it’s time-consuming”
He said and walked to Lauren.
“Let me handle this
He whispered to her and collected the projector remote control.
The three investors fold their arms waiting to hear what Ethan can say about this business and maybe he will be able to convince them.
Ethan started to state the advantages of investing in Lauren’s business plan.
Lauren watched him with a smile on his face as he spoke with confidence to the investors.
Miss Ellie and Stephan came in soon later and joined Lauren to have a seat.
Ethan analyzed every part of the business and how it can increase sales, how the business is going to grow, and what form of marketing strategy can be used to reach the audience.

Ellie said.
“Yeah, he is…
I’m lucky we have him here, I almost lost my investors”
Lauren replied.
Stephan just scoffs.

Ellie could see the smile and the convinced look on the investor’s faces.
They seem to be enjoying his presentation”

Beth and Harry both sat down in the living room watching TV while throwing popcorn into their mouth.
“You really must be enjoying this movie”
Beth said as she noticed Harry was so focused and engrossed with the movie showing on the TV. Beth’s motive was to find more information about Ethan’s social life from Harry.

Beth suddenly asked.

Lauren appreciated them again and suddenly hugged him.
Miss Ellie was surprised.

Ethan replied. Miss Ellie intentionally coughed when she noticed they wouldn’t break off the hug anytime soon.
“Alright, can we go back to our office now? We have a lot of work to attend to”
Ellie said and held Ethan’s hands.

Lauren said and breathed out.
Suddenly, Mr George and Luke walked in when Ethan and Ellie were about to move out.
“Can you excuse us?
Luke said facing Ethan giving him a killing dangerous look.
Ethan kept a straight face with him.

Ellie pulled Ethan out together with herself excusing them.
“Hey… Why do you pull me that way?”
Ethan asked as soon as they got out.
“It’s obvious Miss Lauren needs our help”
“Can’t you see that’s Mr George and his son, Luke?
They are literally the co-owners of Linde Plc”
Ellie replied.
