Chrystal froze for a bit before glaring at Ethan.
“Are you crazy? Taking away my free will isn’t something I’ll agree on.” She frowned.
“What are you two waiting for? Get on the bus.” Mr Griffin called and they both faced the bus. That’s when they realized everyone had already entered in pairs except them.
Ethan smirked.
“Seems you’re gonna be my partner after all and don’t worry, I won’t make you do anything inappropriate.” He winked, pulling her along. Chrystal just let herself be dragged by the jerk as she didn’t have a choice anyways. A deal is a deal.
They got to the bus and Ethan dragged her all the way to the back seat, making her seat close to the window and him next to her.
“Why do you have to seat at the back? There are many seats up front.” Chrystal glared at him.
“We need our privacy cupcake.” Ethan grinned naughtily and Chrystal just rolled her eyes.
Shaun and Fabiola sat together and they wouldn’t stop talking and giggling and laughing. Though not too loud. Sebastian noticed this and a smile plastered on his face. He is happy seeing the old Fabiola and he would talk to Shaun later about her.
Wh@tëver he did that made her so quiet and sad, he should never try it again.
Sebastian is sitting next to Ivory. She had insisted on them being partners and he agreed since she’s also his good friend.
Swayer sat with Fiona, Maeve with Kyle who forced her to be his partner. She agreed because she had a secret motive and lastly Kandle sat with Natasha.
The ride to the first destination was fun for people like Shaun and Fabiola who kept keeping each other company and also Sebastian and Ivory as Ivory kept engaging him in funny jokes and other serious conversation.
As for the rest, they were begging the bus to stop so they’ll get out of it.
The bus finally stopped at what looks like a forest entrance.
“I told you we were going hiking.” Ethan smirked. Chrystal just put her earpod on, ignoring him.
“Alright everyone get out. We are here.” Miss Diane said, being the first to step out. Others followed after.
“What at we doing in a forest and I didn’t think they were forests in Canada.” Kyle said, scratching his head before rubbing his eye.
“How would you know when that brain of yours is empty.” Maeve scoffed. She noticed the way he’s been scratching his eyes and frowned.
“What’s up with your eye?” She asked with a straight face. Kyle ignored her of course.
“We are here to play a game called who’s first.” Miss Diane smiled.
“I’m starting to dislike games. It always ends badly.” Swayer muttered. No one except Fiona who was next to her heard her of course.
“Who’s what now?” Natasha furrowed her brows.
“We had some people prepare this place for us according to our description. Now there are clues of which we will be giving you and you will use those clues to find the required item on your list. The first team to come back here wins a prize.” Mr Griffin said.
“I would really love to go back to the house and continue my sleep.” Kyle whined and everyone laughed.
“What is the price?” Fiona asked excitedly.
“That is for you to find out miss Crownstar.” Mr Griffin replied, bringing out a smal box from the bag he carried. He opened the box, handing a piece of paper to each team.
“What is this?” Shaun furrowed his brows. Fabiola looked at the paper and laughed slightly.
“It’s upside down Shaun!” She giggled and Shaun’s cheeks turned red in embarrassment. He immediately turned it the right side up and laughed slightly.
“That is your clue and required items you’re meant to find. Each clue is for a specific item. You’re not all to find the same thing however. You can find four each out of the ten items. once all four are intact, come back here immediately.” Miss Diane instructed.
“Wait, you’re gonna let us go into the forest all alone?” Chrystals eyes widened.
“Of course not, you’ve got me.” Ethan grinned and Chrystal felt like punching his face.
“Don’t worry miss Lang, we’ve got wally talky’s for y’all to communicate with us incase of emergencies.” Mr Griffin smiled, bringing out another box. He handed each team a walky talky before holding on to the remaining two for miss Diane and himself.
“How long is this gonna take?” Kandle asked and Mr Griffin smiled at him.
“I’m glad you asked Freeman. We also have with us a timer and we expect y’all to make us of your watch.” Mr Griffin said.
“What about those not wearing a watch?” Fabiola frowned. She didn’t think she would need to bring a watch. It was compulsory for Salvatore students to wear a watch at all times but they are outside of Salvatore now, she didn’t think she would need to be wearing it 24/7.
“I have a spare, I’ll lend it to you.” Miss Diane smiled at her.
“Alright alright, let’s begin. You have exactly twenty minutes to retrieve any four items of your choice and get back here. If anything goes wrong, make use of the talkies and if after twenty minutes y’all are not here, we’ll assume something have happened to the other and a search party would be sent.” Mr Griffin said.
“Any other rules we should know of?” Sebastian frowned. How is this fun? it’s stressful, no where close to fun.
“Stay clear of any cliff. I repeat, stay away. The sands may be slippery or not solid enough so avoid going close to any cliff.” Griffin answered.
“Any more questions?” Miss Diane asked and everyone shook their head.
“Good then, you’re time starts now. Sebastian, Ivory, team A. Shaun, Fabiola team B. Chrystal, Ethan team C. Swayer, Fiona team D. Natasha, Kandle team E. Kyle, Maeve team F.” Miss Diane grouped and everyone began walking into the forest.
The moment they got into the not so thick forest, they went their separate ways but in twos of course.
TEAM B
Fabiola made sure she was close to Shaun. Shes never been in a forest before and she was scared as f*ck.
“What is we encounter a bear?” She whispered, clutching onto Shaun’s shirt.
Shaun stopped walking, turning around to face the scared little kitten.
“Don’t worry, superman is here to save you.” He smiled, removing her shaking hand from his shirt but Fabiola gripped it harder.
“I’m serious!” She glared at him. Shaun sighed, opening the paper. The first item there was a red compass.
“How the hell are we supposed to find a red compass admisst these thick trees and green grasses?” He frowned.
Fabiola straighten herself, glancing at the paper.
“The clue says, I am invisible but yet I’m everywhere you go.” She read out, furrowing her brows.
“Invisible but everywhere?” Shaun asked looking around.
“What can’t we see but yet it’s everywhere?” Fabiola faced him with a grin.
“Air!” Shaun said with a smile but it vanished immediately.
“We are looking for a compass not air. It’s red and it’s tiny.” He said looking at the paper again.
“Shaun don’t you get it? we are in a forest and the only thing that’s around us now ars trees! The compass is small yes but if we check the trees around us, we can find it!” Fabiola smiled and Shaun blinked severally.
“Fabiola you beautiful genius!” He exclaimed as his eyes caught something red on the three behind Fabiola. He moved closer and indeed it’s a red compass!.
Fabiola blushed slightly as she ticked the compass with a blue marker and they continued into the forest.
TEAM F
Maeve sighed as she kept looking at the dried up grass on the ground as she walked. The first item on their list is a yellow flag and then clue says watch your steps.
Kyle wasn’t even helping out. He was just saying rubbish to get on her nerves.
“Would you shut the f*ck up!” She finally lost it. What was she thinking accepting him as a partner? She would rather go alone that have him come along.
“Hey I’m just trying to help.” Kyle raised his hands in surrender.
“You can help by glueing that mouth of yours!” Maeve yelled and made to walk but she almost tripped.
“Hey watch your steps!” Kyle called after her. She turned back to glare at him but paused. Behind him was a tree that had a painted word on it.
*Watch your steps*
She widened her eyes as her gaze trailed down to her roots of the tree. The yellow flag was there!
“Omg!” Maeve screamed pushing Kyle away immediately and walking up to the tree. She picked up the flag and smiled broadly.
“Finally.” She sighed, ticking the flag on the paper with a black marker.
“You’re welcome.” Kyle grin but she just glared at him, walking passed him.
