Swayer sat on the front porch , staring at the night sky. Today really gave her a fright. She thought she would actually die before someone pulls her out.
“Guess it’s not my time yet.” She chuckled.
“Who are you talking to?” Sebastian’s voice jolted her out of her thoughts and she turned around immediately.
“Jeez Sebastian! You almost gave me a heart attack.” She said holding her chest. Sebastian’s gaze fell on the hand which was on her chest and memories of him administering CPR to her came popping up. He shook his head to clear it out, sitting beside her on the porch.
“Sorry.” He muttered, gazing at the sky.
“They are beautiful aren’t they?” Swayer smiled, admiring the stars.
“Yes, they are.” Sebastian replied facing Swayer. “You gave everyone a scare there.” He said and she faced him. Seeing his face up close reminded her of their kiss and her cheeks subconsciously turned red.
Sebastian’s eyes widened and he poked her head.
“What the hell are you thinking about?” He asked with a smile.
“Oucn!” Swayer held her head, frowning slightly.
“What do you think I was thinking about?” Swayer threw the question back at him.
Sebastian paused, staring at her face.
“You know, when I saw you lying there, covered in mind, I was so d@mn scared you wouldn’t wake up again.” He muttered.
“Hey! You can’t get rid of me that fast.” Swayer chuckled, giving him a nudge.
“I’m being serious!” Sebastian snapped.
“Okay okay, I’m sorry.” Swayer said raising her hands up in surrender.
“It…it made me realize something.” Sebastian said, his eyes not leaving her face. Swayer faced him immediately with anticipating eyes.
Was he going to confess to her? What did he realize? is this really happening?
Her mind kept throwing possible gestures at her and she hoped that it would be one of them.
“What…did..you.. realize?” She dragged her words, waiting desperately for his response.
“It made me realize….” Sebastian trailed off, placing his hand of head. Swayer furrowed her brows. Is this supposed to be romantic? If he had held her cheek, it would be more appropriate for the scene that’s happening.
“It made me realize that you’re soooo stupid!” Sebastian suddenly yelled, ruffling her head hard.
“Hey stop that!” Swayer immediately hit his hand off. She was very confused right now. Is this the confession? Did she expect too much again?
“How I’m I stupid?” She asked with a frown.
“How could you not tell a solid ground from a mud? How could let yourself be sucked by that d@mn quicksand?” Sebastian frowned.
“For someone with the title the brain of Salvatore, you’re pretty dumb to me.” He chuckled and Swayer hit his head.
“Hey! What was that for?” He held his head.
“For being jerk!” Swayer frowned, standing up from the porch.
“Where are you going?” He called after her.
“Isn’t it obvious? Away from you!” She replied, opening the door and shutting it close. A smile plastered on her face and she rested her back on the door.
“Jerk.” She muttered, shaking her head before heading to her room.
Sebastian just kept staring at the door until he finally tore his gaze off. He shook his head, smiling to himself.
He knows what he was suppose to say, what she wanted to hear but he didn’t think he was ready to say that yet. He could still remember their kiss and how heated it was. Game or no game, that wasn’t just an ordinary kiss. He decided to go to bed early since tomorrow would be the beginning of their prep. Today got wasted because of the accidents… speaking of accidents, he hasn’t even spoken to his sister yet. He decided to go check on her before going to bed.

MORGAN’S HOSPITAL
Anna covered her face to prevent the unending tears from falling as the doctor brought the sheets up to Gracie’s face. It’s not even up to a week…it’s not even up to three days. Her body deteriorated really fast and just passed away.
“I’m really sorry. I know she was a good friend to you.” The doctor said, tapping Anna’s shoulders before leaving the room.
Anna just couldn’t stop crying. Gracie was stronger two days ago. How could this suddenly happen? She’s too young, too young to die. But it might have been best as she has suffered alot. She has no family and maybe now that she’s a spirit, she might be reunited with her family Anna.
“Oh Anna, look how hilarious you’ve become, thinking of such nonsense.” She said to herself, crying even more. The door came open and three men walked in with a stroller bed and a bag. It’s the same bag she’s seen in movies with which the ambulance uses in carrying dead bodies.
“We need to take her to the mortuary now.” One of the men said to her and she glanced at the covered body again before leaving the room. She can’t bring herself to watch them put her in that bag. They might not have known each other much but Anna still felt sad. Gracie had an interesting personality and if she was given a longer time on earth, people would also agree to that after being around her.
She brought out her and dialed Swayers number immediately. She needed to talk to someone right now and Swayer is the first person that came to her mind.
Swayer picked up immediately she saw the call from Anna. She had just had her bath and was about tucking herself in bed when her phone buzzed.
“Anna! How are you doing?” Swayer asked excitedly.
“Swayer.” Anna whimpered and Swayer furrowed her brows.
“Anna, what’s wrong?” She asked worriedly.
“I…Gracie…she’s dead.” Anna stuttered, holding back the tears but it came out anyways.
“Omg…I..I thought she had two weeks left?” Swayer asked with widened eyes. She couldn’t imagine how Anna would be feeling now.
“That’s what we all thought but it happened so fast even the doctors couldn’t understand.” Anna sniffed.
“I’m so sorry Anna. I wish I was there with you.” Swayer sighed. She felt like crying now. She didn’t like it whenever Anna’s is hurt and right now, she could feel it.
“How..how are things over there?” Anna asked trying to take her mind off it.
“Honestly, terrible. There’s been nothing but accidents here and there and now we are down by one member.” Swayer frowned remembering Kyle.
“Down? How?” Anna furrowed her brows, wiping the tears off her face completely.
“Kyle has conjunctivitis and is currently under quarantine. Mr Griffin is going to plead with the board tomorrow to let us participate like that. It’s not gonna be a fair competition anymore.” Swayer sighed.
Anna was quiet for a while and Swayer had to check if she’s still on the line.
“Anna? You there?” She called.
“I’ll be in Canada tomorrow. Tell Mr Griffin not to bother going to the board.” Anna said after a while of thought.
“You are not serious. You will do no such thing Anna. You’re emotionally unstable right n-”
“That’s the more reason I need a distraction. I’m not asking for your permission Swayer. I’m coming to Canada tomorrow and that’s final. Tell Mr Griffin to give me an address.” She said and Swayer sighed. This is the serious Anna talking and arguing with her is of no use.
“Fine.” Swayer muttered.
“Tell the girls I said hi.” She said before ending the call. Swayer looked at the screen and sighed, throwing her phone on the bed. This is really bad news. What’s worst is that Anna would have to find out about the stupid bet and she’ll be really pissed off at her for even accepting.
She got off the bed to look for Mr Griffin and tell him about Anna. Opening the door, she left her room, heading downstairs. She got to Mr Griffins room and knocked on his door lightly.
Mr Griffin was already at sleep when he heard the sound coming from the door. He reluctantly opened his eyes, wondering who is it that’s disturbing his sleep. He got off the bed, walking lazily to the door and on opening it he was surprised.
“Miss D’vile?” He blinked severally to be sure.
“I’m sorry to disturb you sir but I have something to tell you.” Swayer said with an apologetic look. Griffin sighed, inviting her into his room.
“What’s going on?” He asked expecting bad news as usual. With these students, he wouldn’t be surprised.
“It’s about our teammate Kyle. Since he can’t compete in the quiz due to his illness, Anna Salmore has requested to fill in for him. She said she will be here tomorrow and needs an address for this location.” Swayer rushed her words. She could see the old man is still feeling sleepy and wanted to make it brief. He’s in his late Forty’s.
“Alright, I’ll do that first thing in the morning. You may leave.” He quickly dismissed her as he badly wanted to get back to his sleep. Swayer smiled, leaving his room immediately and retuning back to hers.
She got to bed and sighed, hoping tomorrow would be better. She picked up her phone from the bed, placing it on the side table and tucking herself properly in bed.
“May your soul rest in peace Gracie.” She muttered before shutting her eyes.

Sebastian got to Fabiola’s room and was about knocking but he noticed the door is slightly opened.
He furrowed his brows, getting hold of the doorknob. He slowly pushed the door open.
“Fabio…Oh my..what the hell!” He yelled and Shaun and Fabiola immediately disengaged from their hot make out. They both looked like criminals who had been caught red handed. Sebastian didn’t even know what to say. He knew he definitely can’t removed what he just saw from his memory. Shaun was practically trying to devour Fabiola’s lips.
“B..bab..y.” Fabiola stuttered, not knowing what to say. Shaun was practically avoiding meeting Sebastian’s gaze and he did the right thing because Sebastian was glaring at him, real hard.
