NOT EDITED

All students were once again gathered in the living room as Mr Griffin had called a meeting.
Swayer was more than happy when Fabiola walked into the kitchen, telling them their presence was needed in the living room. It had saved them all from explaining to Sebastian why they had mentioned his name.

Josey had been talking with Mr Griffin and miss Diane all day and they finally came to a conclusion.

“I called this meeting tonight for two reasons.” Griffin started.

“First is to apologize for the inconveniences this trip has brought y’all. The aim of all these games was to help y’all develop your team spirit but it seems I took it too far as it endangered your lifes instead.”

“Finally, an agreement.” Ethan muttered and miss Diane glared at him. Griffin ignored his side comment and continued talking.

”As you all know, we only have tomorrow to prepare for the quiz since it’s starting this Friday. We are going to have an intense study practice tomorrow.” Griffin concluded.

“Thank goodness. No more deadly games.” Fiona muttered and Swayer chuckled.

“Rest tonight everyone, tomorrow we’ll be waking up early and after breakfast we’ll begin.” Miss Diane said with a smile and everyone nodded.

“Goodnight students.” Mr Griffin said as he stood up from the couch.

“Goodnight sir.” Everyone chorused.

Mr Griffin and miss Diane retired to their rooms while Josey stayed back.

“Swayer, can I have a word?” Josey asked and Swayer bounced her head before following her to the balcony at the backyard.

“What’s going on?” Swayer asked with a smile

“I don’t mean to prey but is everything alright with you and your friends? I’ve been noticing some tension and you haven’t been looking too happy.” Josey said, worry evident in her tone.

“Well, there will always be ups and downs, its left for us to sort ourselves out.” Swayer said with a sad smile.

“Remember the competition is a day away. Try to sort yourself out before then to avoid further losses.” Josey said stroking Swayer’s hair.

“My baby sis is all grown up.” She added kissing Swayer’s forehead.

“And my big sis is getting old.” Swayer joked and Josey pulled her hair a bit.

“Ouch.” Swayer laughed before hugging Josey.

“Love you sis.” Josey said before breaking the hug.

“I love you too.” Swayer replied and they both entered the house.

Kandle just got out of the bathroom with a towel draped to his waist and another on his hair which he was using to dry his hair.

He removed the towel from his head after he had finished drying it and brought out his box to bring out his pajamas. He didn’t bother unpacking anything into the wardrobe since they weren’t staying long.

The moment he put on his pajamas pants, he heard a knock on the door.

He paused a bit, wondering whom it might be.

“I’m coming.” He said as he picked up his shirt and put it on quickly before going to open the door.

“Natasha?” Kandle blinked in shock.

“Sorry I’m I disturbing?” Natasha asked, lowering her gaze.

“No no, come in.” Kandle said with a slight smile, moving aside for her to get in.

Natasha exhaled before walking into the room sluggishly. She was having second thoughts on coming but she just had to. She didn’t want to give him a wrong impression of herself and that’s why she needed to talk to him.

“I umm… I wanted to talk to you about what happened earlier.” Natasha stuttered, still keeping her gaze on the floor.

Kandle noticed her uneasiness but decided to let her talk still. He would be making it more difficult for her if he should interrupt.

“Yeah sure. Go on.” He said sitting on the edge of the bed.

“I.. I’m sorry if I gave you a wrong impression earlier. I should not have done that using the excuse of us having to move on.” Natasha rushed her words. She kept staring at the floor like her words were written on it. She just didn’t want to meet his gaze as she was sure she would not be able to say anything else.

“Cool, I totally understand.” Kandle said trying to ease her a bit. He also had that thought of talking to her about what happened but he decided to wait it out till tomorrow but it seems she beat him to it.

“You.. you’re not mad?” Natasha asked, finally lifting her face up. Their gaze locked for a while but she was the first to look away.

“I’m not mad. Trust me.” Kandle smiled slightly.

“Okay. I’ll be going now.” Natasha said and turned around immediately.

“Wait.” Kandle stopped her before she could touch the door knob.
She stopped in her tracks but didn’t turn around.

Kandle got up from the bed and stood behind her.

“Turn around please.” He said with a smile and she slowly turned around.

“Friends?” Kandle asked extending his hand for a handshake.

Natasha stared at his hand for a while before slowly stretching hers to his but before her hand could touch his, Kandle grabbed her arm and pulled her onto his embrace, shocking Natasha.

“I’m not gonna bite you okay. Stop fidgeting.” He chuckled before letting her go and ruffling her hair.

Natasha didn’t even know when she laughed out loud. She always laughed each time Shaun ruffled her hair. It made her feel like his little sister. Thinking about this now made her realize how badly she misses him.

“Friends.” She replied, smiling broadly this time.

“Alright, goodnight.” Kandle said, walking past her and opening the door for her.

“Are you that desperate to get me out of your room?” Natasha chuckled.

“Hey, last I remember, you were the one rushing to get out, I’m just being a gentleman by holding the door.” Kandle replied with a smile.

“What if I say I don’t wanna go?” Natasha asked, rasing her brow at him.

“We can arrange that. Just know you’ll be sleeping on the floor.” Kandle said folding his arms across his chest.

“So you would let a lady sleep on the floor while you have the bed?” Natasha frowned.

“Hey, my room, my rules.” Kandle shrugged.

“What happened to being a gentleman?” Natasha scoffed, walking towards the door.

“It doesn’t involve sharing my bed.” Kandle replied, winking at her.

“Goodnight Natty.” He added

“Natty?” Natasha furrowed her brows.

“Yes Natty. Is anything wrong with that?” Kandle raised a brow at her.

“Actually, that’s a pretty cute nickname. What should I call you? Kandy crush?” Natasha laughed and Kandle ruffled her hair again.

“Get out already, my hand is hurting.” He joked and Natasha stock out her tongue before walking out of the room.

“Sleep well Kandy.” She smiled but Kandle frowned.

“Kandy sounds like a girls name.” He said pouting his lips.

“Well you look really cute right now, girlie type of cute.” Natasha chuckled before folding her arms and tapping her jaw as she thought of the best nickname to use for him.

“How about Andy? That’s sounds more masculine, right?” She shrugged and Kandle immediately slammed the door at her face.

Natasha laughed out loud before covering her mouth as she remembered it’s already night time.

“Andy it is.” she chuckled before walking away and heading to her room.

Swayer sighed the fifth time as she stared at the ceiling. She still couldn’t fall asleep.

“Don’t tell me you’re still awake.” Anna mumbled sleepily. She had decided to spend the night in Swayer’s room as she was still feeling bad for slapping her.

“I thought you had slept off already?” Swayer asked instead.

“I’m trying to but with you sighing every five seconds, it’s kinda hard.” Anna mumbled, lifting herself a bit to have a clear look at Swayer.

“I can’t sleep. I keep thinking about all that’s been happening. I feel so bad now thinking about it. I should have never accepted the bet and gotten y’all involved.” Swayer sighed.

“I would have said it’s not your fault but it is, so you just have to deal with it and tell Sebastian before it’s too late.” Anna said, rubbing her eyes. She was really feeling sleepy.

“I don’t even know how to tell him. I think I should wait till after the quiz. Its just a day away so I can wait it out.” Swayer sighed.

“As long as you tell him soon, it’s fine by me.” Anna smiled, resting back on the bed.
“Goodnight Sway Sway.” She mumbled before closing her eyes.

“Goodnight.” Swayer replied, closing her eyes to see if she’ll sleep off but still nothing.

She was anxious about the quiz. Even though she had fate in her teammates, she was still a bit scared. That Natalia girl is really smart and they had no idea what questions would be asked. Last year they were asked questions based on politics alone. She’s not sure what aspect they’ll e touching this year.

“Swayer D’vile if you sigh one more time I will hit you on the head.” Anna groaned and Swayer chuckled. She had no idea she had sighed again.

“Sorry.” She whispered before shutting her eyes again. She’ll just let tomorrow take care of itself.
