“Let’s settle this amicably Vanessa, go back to America else I’ll be killing you for real this time,I’m not saying for saying sake, I mean everything I just said. Leave when you’re still alive or be prepared to go back to America as a corpse”Mariam said vernomously and Vanessa’s eye grew wide in shock.
A long and awkward silence took over, before Vanessa’s decided to break it.
“You’re ready to go that far cos of a man who barely have a feeling for you?”A smile was on her face,as she asked Mariam the question.
“I guess you know better”Mariam smirked and Vanessa licked her lips with a smile.
She rubbed her temple’s,then looked at Mariam with all seriousness.
“Who are you parents and where are they?”Vanessa threw the question at Mariam who became confused immediately.
They’re talking about life and death and this girl here is asking about her parents? Where’s that one coming from Abeg?
“You don’t have a parents?”Vanessa narrowed her eyes and Mariam heaved.
“Of course I have and they’re at the village”She replied and Vanessa shook her head in pity.
“Sh|t!! I wonder how they must be feeling for birthing an idiot like you”Vanessa clicked tongue and Mariam’s eyes widened.

“Yunno,a pill could have avoided a mistake like you. Too bad, you’ve already been birthed!!”Vanessa shook her head, sounding so pathetic and Mariam stood up in rage.
“Your guts huh? Aren’t you scared of death?”She snarled and Vanessa smirked,seeing the effects of her word’s to her.
“Nah!! Death is normal, everyone is gonna die one day or the other. Including you”Vanessa shrugged and Mariam sat down,with a clenched fist.
“I’m wondering where the boldness came from”Mariam chuckled, while Vanessa only smirked.
“Of course you think am gonna be scared? That’s absurd”Vanessa laughed and Mariam chuckled.
“Your boldness is irritating me,so much that I feel like strangling you to death”Mariam gritted and Vanessa laughed.
“I know you wouldn’t dare,cos they’ll know I came to see you. So if anything should happen to me, you’ll be jailed for murder and will be executed!! So…”Vanessa clicked tongue and Mariam smiled.
Gosh!! Coming there without informing anyone was a bad idea!! She was only saying that,to ignite fear in Mariam so she wouldn’t do anything crazy!! She’s a psycho!!
“That’s why I haven’t killed you,I would have if not that you informed them!”Mariam glared and Vanessa gulped before smiling.
“You done?”She asks and Mariam furrowed her brow.
“What do….”
“If that’s the reason you called me over,I guess I’m done. So I’m saying a big over to this conversation!!”Vanessa said and stood up,she tried walking to the door but Mariam pulled her back.
“I’m not kidding Vanessa,read my lips…Go back to America else I’ll be killing you”She said it, directly on her face and Vanessa’s heart freaked.
The way her eyes was piercing murderously at her,was killing itself.
“Copied”Vanessa smiled.
“The choice is yours and yes, this conversation between us shouldn’t get to another person,it is between us Vanessa!!”She added with a smirk then released her hand.
“Füçk you!!”Vanessa shouted and rushed out.
Mariam smirked,then sat on her bed.
“I’ll mess her up,if she thinks I’m joking”She said wickedly.

√√TONY’S LODGE √√
Vanessa opened the door weakly, and stepped in.
Her face looked gloomy and her mind wasn’t with her at all! She’s been thinking about Mariam’s word,all through coming back.
What If Mariam means everything she said? Of course she does and now she’s scared like madd!! Gawd of mercy! How did she enter into such a mess huh?
“Where have you been?”Tony asks and Vanessa screamed out in fear, before holding her chest while breathing heavily.
“You scared me!!”She breathed and Tony walked to her.
“What happened? You seemed lost,did….”
“I’m fine tony, totally fine”She forced a smile and Tony shook his head.
“You’re not Vanessa,I’ve known you for long Vanessa and this look on your face shows you’re not okay. Tell me what’s going on with you”Tony probed further and Vanessa smiled.
“I’m fine, believe me”She insisted.
“Did Mariam say something to you?”Tony asks slowly and Vanessa took her bottom lips in.
“No! No! No!! It’s not….”
“When did you suddenly start lying? Don’t lie to me Vanessa,what did she say?”Tony asks calmly and Vanessa exhaled before pulling tony with her,they sat on the bed and Vanessa began with the explanation, from where Mariam sent her a text message to what transpired at her lodge,she didn’t miss out any word.
“Jeez!!”Tony screamed and stood up angrily.
“How could you take such risk huh? What if she harmed you?”Tony shouted angrily and Vanessa bite her bottom lips hardly.
“I trusted her,how could I know she was this evil?”She asks slowly and Tony roughed his hair.
“Even if you trusted her,gawd!! I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened”He closed his eyes and Vanessa took her bottom lips in again.
“But I’m fine now”She replied.
“I’ll be back”Tony rushed to the door, but Vanessa pulled him back.
“Where are you going?”
“To Mariam of course,that girl is possessed”Tony gritted and Vanessa sighed.
“I just told you she said the conversation was between us, going to her means I told you and it might be dangerous”Vanessa reasoned and Tony closed his eyes, before leaning on the wall.
“Mariam why are you doing this? What’s wrong with you!! This isn’t the Mariam I once known”tony thought inwardly with his eyes still closed but opened them immediately he heard sniffing sounds, Vanessa was crying.
“What happened?”He crouched before her, while looking at her worriedly.
“She wanted… wanted”Vanessa hiccuped and Tony sighed again.
“I’m.. I’m scared”She said slowly and Tony looked her in the eye’s.
“Nothing is gonna happen okay? She won’t harm you”he assured.
“But she sounded serious”Vanessa told him.
“Do you want to go back to America then?”Tony asks and Vanessa shook her head negatively immediately.
“Good then, trust me. Nothing will happen to you okay?”Tony patted her shoulder, and she nodded slowly.

Everywhere was silent,only the sounds of the rain drops which was pouring heavily was heard,the thunder lightening at intervals and great wind blowing.
Vanessa could be seen, sitting on the bed while covering herself with a sheet.
It’s been two hours tony went to refill the gas and he wasn’t yet back,that’s cos it’s been raining non-stop.
There’s no way he will come back when he didn’t go out with an umbrella,and besides it haven’t started raining when he went out thou.
Vanessa exhaled,then looked at the time.
8:00PM!! Gosh!!
She looked at the door,still it wasn’t opening. She climbed down the bed and went over to the window to see that everywhere was becoming darker.
You could barely see!! She took her bottom lips in,then went over to take the umbrella.
Once she was done,she picked a jacket from her closet and wore.
She opened the door,but her eyes widened when she saw tony already standing at the door, drenched like a kitten.
His clothes,sticked tightly on his body and he was shaking non-stop.
“Oh no!!”She screamed and opened the door wide for him to come in.
He walked in, while shaking like a baby. His teeth clathering against each other and his palms cold as ice.
“Get changed,I’ll take in the gas”Vanessa told him hurriedly and Tony nodded.
She carried the gas cylinder to the kitchen, while tony got changed.
She came back,then met him already lying down with the duvet covering all of his body, including his head.
Vanessa pulled the duvet off him then bent to his level.
“Why are you shaking this much?”She asks slowly and Tony sighed.
“I’m not tolerant to cold”he replied,with his voice shaky and his teeth still clashing.
“So what should I do?”She scratches her head and Tony pointed to the drawer for her.
“Get my pills there”he told her,then covered back himself.
“Are you taking it on empty stomach?”She asks and Tony nodded.
“No,you won’t. I’ll make something,but I don’t know how to cook!!”She roughed her hair and Tony sighed.
“Get the pills please”He said and Vanessa looked at him pitifully.
Vanessa rushed to the drawer,then opened it but met the packet of drugs empty.
“It’s this the packet?”She asks and Tony nodded.
“Good grief,it is empty”Vanessa shouted and Tony groaned.
“I…I.. forgot that,jeez!!”He shook and Vanessa came back.
“What should I do?”She panicked and Tony didn’t reply.
“Hot…hot water”she shouted and rushed to the kitchen.
She came back after few minutes,with a cup which contained the hot water.
She sat close to him on the bed,then lifted his head before helping him to drink the water.
“Does it help?”Tony asks, laying back on the bed and Vanessa nodded.
Few minutes past and the shaking increased which got Vanessa freaking out in fear.
“It’s like that I’ll fall sick”Tony said and Vanessa sighed.
“Why did you have to come back under the rain huh?”She scolded,and before tony could reply tears began trickling down her cheeks.
“You’re crying?”He asks slowly and Vanessa looked away, before wiping her tears.
“You should take a hot shower”Vanessa told him and Tony shook his head.
“Why?”She narrowed her brows.
“It’s still not going to help. Only the pills can help”Tony replied and Vanessa sighed tiredly.
“Even after knowing all that,you decided to come back under the rain right?”She asks and Tony sighed.
“What would you have me do? It’s still raining even now, should I have slept outside?”He asks and Vanessa broke down in tears which got tony confused.
“So what should I do now huh? Just see the way you’re shaking!! How can I help? I won’t even sleep in peace tonight with the way your teeths keeps making noise”She rolled eye in tears and Tony almost chuckled,but he didn’t.
He only brought out his hand,then pulled Vanessa which got her crashing on his body.
“What…what are you doing?”She stuttered with wide eye.
“Can you body heat me?”He asks slowly and Vanessa took her bottom lips in.
“For tonight please!! I can’t sleep alone with the coldness I’m feeling”Tony continued, looking at her pleadingly.
Vanessa gulped and nodded slowly.
Tony adjusted for her and she joined him on the bed,he then covered their body with the duvet.
Vanessa gulped,then shifted a little from him,but Tony pulled her more closer which got a gasp leaving her lips.
“What?”
“Your…your hands are cold”she stuttered heavily.
“I know”Tony replied,then pulled her more closer to himself with his D pressing tightly on her @$$.
“Let’s stay like this for tonight okay?”He whispered again in her ears and Vanessa nodded slowly.
“Goodnight”Tony told her.
Vanessa laid transfixed on his arms,with her heart beating crazily and soon she became relaxed. She exhaled,then turned to look at tony who has dozed off,but was still shaking.
She smiled,then turned very well to him, in a way that they where facing each other.
She smuggled more closer to him,her head placed on his chest.
She kept staring at his face, with a smile on her face till she dozed off to sleep too.
