Monica state at her phone for
the fifth time that evening, how could he not
even try reaching out to me? Wait? What am I
expecting? It was obviously a one time thing for
him, am sure he doesn’t want to see me again,
he just did that to have something he can use to
blackmail me with.
Turning off the television, my phone buzz and I
look at it immediately, turns out to be Angelo,
the excitement died down but I pick up anyway ”
Monica?” He sounded worried, I wonder why ”
are you okay?”
I frown ” yes, why asking?”
” Last night I saw you with George, I just had to
ask if you are good ”
” Why did you let that bastard take me away ”
” Huh” from the sound of his voice, he seem
confused ” he said you were his? Am not your
boyfriend, I don’t think I can cross that line ”
how dare that George go about lying ” are you
okay? Was that a lie ”
” Yes ” I exhale ” but am fine”
” Can we see?”
” Sure, come over ” he hung up and I look at the
ceiling, he said am his huh, is it that he likes
me? Something like love at first sight? If he did
love me why will he be so interested in sëx first?
Is that how he sees things?
Door bell brought me out of thought, is he here,
so soon? Getting up, I move towards the door
and open it, only to find George standing there
but before he could talk, I close it shut and
frown.
Am not prepared to see him ” open up ” he growl

talking”
” You were on call ” he push me aside and walk
in, shutting the door, I turn around, place my
hands on my hip, give him glares ” you don’t get
to come in here and act like we are friends ”
” Friends?” He sit on the couch and frown ” do

” Am off to a three day journey Monica” he stare

The sound of door bell alert both of us, he look
at the door then at me ” Angelo?” I frown
” How did you…” I stop talking and notice how
he frown, he seem offended, like really angry

Arthur, are you okay?” I ask when he stagger
while standing.
” Need another bottle”
” No” grab the bottle from the table before he
touch it, I received his glare ” you have drink
enough”
” Are you ordering me around?” He frown ” I just
asked you to love me lacey, you can’t even reply
me, tell me ” he hold my hand and drag me up ”

yell

” Must be side effect of drinking” he sit right

know” dropping the bottle, I hold his hands
” We should head back ” he smile and nod,
assisting him back into his bedroom, I shut the
door before looking back at him only to find him
standing naked, my face heat up, how can he
take off his clothes that fast ” Arthur, what are
you doing?’
” Hot ” he look at me before sitting on the bed ”
it’s hot in here” is he really such a bother
whenever he is this drunk? I have never seen
this side of him before, it’s cute ” take off your
dress ” he says after lighting his cigarette.

cigarette, drop it on his drawer before exhaling

now, what if something actually happened?

Getting under the blanket, I lay down at the very
edge, he grab my hand and pull me closer ” do
