CHAPTER NINETEEN
Louis opened his eyes to find himself in the hospital ward. After being checked by the doctor and after he confirmed that his ribs had been broken. Louis was checked into the hospital and was given some drugs which got him sleeping immediately.
He looked at the wall clock and saw that it was just seven in the evening. Not a day have passed yet. He thought as he sat up only to see Rose seating on a chair beside him, soundly asleep.
When Lilian had come to him to explain about how Rose had accused her of things which were impossible. He found it strange and though he had yelled at Rose and told her to leave. It had all been a show. He wanted Lilian to keep on believing that he trusted her.
As soon as Lilian left. He had began his own investigation and somehow he linked Lilian to Stephanie. A girl who had once been Martin stalker and all of his suspicions was confirmed when Rose sent him the video.
He tried calling her but she didn’t answer back and luckily he had access to the location on her phone. So he went in search of her while he texted Martin and Peter about it.
Luckily he had got there before Lilian did something bad to her. He thought as he moved a strand of hair away from her face.
He picked up his phone wanting to call Peter when he went to watch the video she sent to him again.
Rose stirred and opened her eyes only to see Louis up and he seemed to be watching the video she sent him.
“Are you okay?”She asked and he looked at her. Giving her a smile before turning off his phone.
“I am”He replied and she saw the sad expression he had on his face before he managed to mask it with a smile.
“Do you want me to get the doctor?”She asked
“No. I want to talk to you”He said and she took her seat again waiting for him to begin.
“When Lilian told me about your feelings for me yesterday. I thought it was all a lie but when I watched the video. I realised that she was telling the truth”He began
“That is…..”
“Like I said yesterday. It will be best that you stop wh@tëver you are feeling for me. Am someone who doesn’t deserve love. What happened with Lilian clarified the whole thing”he said interrupting her.
“Am not Lilian. My feelings for you are genuine”Rose said wanting to justify herself and also her feelings for him.
“I know which is why I can’t accept them. Get rid of those feelings you have for me. Cause I don’t think I will ever be able to reciprocate them”he said breaking Rose heart more.
“Must I really get rid of my feelings for you?”She asked and he nodded.
“It’s the only way we can keep on being together. So Rose do your best and stop wh@tëver feeling you have for me. I will pretend that this never happened and i hope you do it too”He said and though it hurt her. She nodded.
“Fine then “She said as she stood up to leave but he stopped her by holding her hand.
“That doesn’t stop us from being friends. I hope you won’t let it get in the way of our friendship” he asked and she forced a smile on her face before looking at him.
“Am not a kid you know. I will surely not let it get in the way. So be rest assured. I will get rid of my feelings for you” she said and he returned her smile with one of his.
She turned to leave as the tears she had been holding in for a while began pouring.
A WEEK LATER
“Welcome back young master” Mrs Brad and some of the servants stood waiting as he got out of the car with Martin and Peter trailing after him.
“Thank you”He replied feeling happy. It’s been a week since he has been hospitalised. He is really glad to be back home.
Luckily his mother had left for a business trip. As long as no one tells her about what was happening. She won’t have a reason to worry.
“You look so thin. You need feeding”Mrs Brad said and he put an arm around her as they all walked in.
“I miss your food too and I can’t wait to have them “He said as he was led to the sitting room..
“I think it’s time we head back Louis”Martin said claiming his attention.
“Why? We just arrived”Louis said.
“We have things to do too. We will come visit in the evening”Peter replied.
“Leaving me to go and party on your own right?” Louis asked.
“I wish I had the time. The school trip is here once again and like always am arranging things for it”Martin said.
“Where will you be going?”Louis asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe Africa. We have gone to every country except Africa. Why do you ask? Don’t tell me that you are coming?”Martin asked.
“Probably”Louis replied.
“Probably! You know this is the first time you are willing to go to the school trip. I will be sure to add your name to it”Martin said.
“I said probably. Am still not certain” Louis said
“I don’t care. Am going to add your name to it” Martin said and they all laughed
“Well then we will take our leave” Peter said as they head out of the house.
While Mrs Brad quiz him on what to eat. He wondered where Rose could be. All the employee had come to welcome him but she was no where to be found.
It’s been a week since their discussion at the hospital and though she had taken it well and had told him that she would get rid of her feelings. She hadn’t called him and she didn’t even visit him at the hospital.
He knew he hurt her by refusing her feelings but he had to do it. Firstly he didn’t feel the same way and secondly he didn’t want to get into a relationship after what he went through with Lilian. Lilian who he had believed felt the same way about him, was only around him for revenge.
He wouldn’t let any girl get close to his heart or would he ever fall for anyone again. Still having that thought in his head. He went in search of Rose.
She must probably be preparing something for his return. He thought excitedly as he went to the garden in search of her only to see her talking to Peter. Laughing loudly at something he said.
Seeing them together somehow got him angry and what got him angrier was when Peter wrapped his arm around her.
Are they an item? He thought as he clenche and unclenche his hand in anger.
