As the kept moving tired and exhausted they found an old woman with a walking stick
and with a bunch of firewood on her head walking gently on the bush.
The girls saw her wondering what an old woman will be doing in the forest all herself.
The other mindset told them she is not human, that here is a dangerous field that you can easily get injured within a second.
They all greeted her and walked pass her without giving a look at her.
She noticed they have passed through alot in the forest.
” Hello girls, can you please help your mother”The strange woman speaks. They all made a turn.
” We are not your children, and what would an old dullard be doing in the forest ” Tessy said rudely.
” Take it easy on her, don’t you know she is an old woman she needs help. The firewood is so heavy for her” Uloama felt pity.
” Didn’t she see the firewood would be heavy that she won’t gets to her destination, why did she carried it. Besides who carried this big bunch of firewood for her” Tessy exclaimed. The old woman looked at her without altering a word.
” Can you at once be nice ” Lorita said to Tessy who was rotating her eyeballs.
” Do ghost also cook? “Dora said glaring at the woman.
“You do cook food, I mean you do eat food cause I know you are not human ” Rita glared.
” Please my children help me this firewood is heavy on my head” The woman said slowly and painfully.
” If we help you are you sure you won’t harm us? ” Lorita said.
” Yes, I won’t do you people anything drastic, trust me” She said.
” We don’t trust anyone in this forest when it comes to situation like this woman” Uloama chipped in.
” Please, I’m harmless ” She replied.
” Now lead us the way” Lorita took the firewood from her head and place it on hers following her up. They looked at her surprisingly.
The old woman continued walking sluggishly with her walking stick till the gets to a small hurt in the forest structured with bamboo sticks and palmfronts.
A pot of water can be seen outside the hurt and some firewoods by the side.
Lorita drops the firewood wondering how the woman live in such a place.
Everywhere was quite abit good and no grass was found close to the small hurt.
” You live here? ” Lorita asked muddled.
” Yes, this is where I live. Please you girls should sit down ” She said walking inside the hurt. Few seconds she returns with a cup of water in her hand.
” Hmmmm”
” What is that? ” Uloama questioned inquisitively.
” I know you girls might be tasty so you brought you water”
” You want to get us with your water right ” Tessy thundered.
” We help her, I mean I help her so she wanted showing appreciation” Lorita interferes.
” Thank you so much for helping me. I know what brought you girls to this forest. I can direct you people the way but I can’t get there. As for the water if you dont want my it I will direct you where you can get water to drink but… ” She paused.
” But what? ” Lorita curioused.
” Something abit will happen when you are back from the stream but the water it abit close to where you can get the skull”
” We need the skull” Lorita said.
” And we need the water too” Dora added.
” Move straight you will find another road by the left you lead on it and keep going you will find a big stream. On your way back anything you people see avoid it. It will be a distraction then lead by the right road then you find a road that leads to a big two branches, somebody will lead you from there. Go now… ” The old woman said.
