ADAM’S POV
“Daddy who’s Annabella?” Abigail asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I sniffed, wiping my tears “Get in the car, I’ll be right back.” I put Abigail in the car and ran towards Anna Leigh.
It’s like I’m meeting her for the first time.
ANNA LEIGH’S POV
I was rubbing my big belly, checking out the barbecue the seller is making.
I felt my goosebumps are rising, feeling sparks, I turned and my eyes widened at Adam running towards me as his hair are flying backwards.
“Oh my God, he found me.” I whined and was about to run away but he grabbed my hand immediately and pulled me a hug, I felt he’s crying which touched me.
“Day and night, I keep thinking and dreaming about you. I’ve missed your everything about you.” He sobbed.
I miss you too.
I used a my might to him away “Please, get out of here before someone sees you.” I whispered feeling people are looking at me.
He scoffed “I haven’t seen you for 6 months and you’re still scared people are looking at us?”
I scoffed “You never tell that you’re still married and had a kid, I don’t want to create another bad name so please stay away from me.” I turned to leave but he grabbed my wrist tightly.
“I can’t just lose you easily, Anna Leigh, I love you.” He grabbed my waist “I still love you, I don’t know why fate is ruining my life, I didn’t mean for Evelyn and I to have a kid, I swear.”
I rolled my eyes with a scoff “Yeah right.” I pulled myself from him “Look, you’ve moved on and I’m trying my best to move on too…”
“I know, you’re pregnant for someone else that’s why you think we can’t be together anymore.” He said bitterly.
I don’t know how to tell him that it’s his child.
“That’s exactly what it means.” I stated “Adam, you have a good life, you’re rich and successful, you have a wife and a daughter, so what exactly do you want from me?!”
“So you think that I want this life?” He yelled.
I noticed passerbys are starring at us.
“Adam, I have to go…”
“C’mon, just let’s talk about this situation.” He’s still holding my hand “How have you been? How’s the baby? How are you feeling? Like I need to know more about how you’re living right now.”
I flipped my hair “Okay, I don’t know how’s that has to do with you, please, let go of my hand, my mom’s waiting for me.”
“What’s going on?” Mom approached us.
Adam smiled “Mrs Rosa, please to meet you again.”
“Mijo, please leave my bebe alone, you’ve suffer her enough. I don’t want to see your face again, you get that?” She slapped his hand off mine “Bastardo.”
“Let’s go, sweetie.” Mom’s firm hand grasped my wrist leading me away from the heartbreaking sight of Adam’s sorrow.
As we distanced ourselves from the scene, I couldn’t help but glance back over my shoulder, my heart wrenching at the sight of his heartbroken expression.
“I’m sorry.” I mouthed silently, my heart can’t just bare the sight of seeing him sad, especially the fact that I’m now lying about his baby, but that’s how fate it.
“Are you okay?” Mom asked, holding my arm.
I nodded “Si.”
“Let’s go home.” She smiled as we entered the taxi and he started driving away.
I looked out the window, watching Adam still starring at me with his sorrowful eyes.
“Daddy!” A little blonde girl ran to him and hugged his legs because of her cute little height.
I pressed my eyes as more tears spilled out, mom held my hand “You can let it out if you want.”
I sniffed “He has a family now,” I sobbed with a sniff, a bitter truth that pierced my heart like a dagger. “There’s no place for me in his world. I must face this alone, for the sake of my child and for myself.”
Without hesitation, mom gently guided me to lean against her, her arm drawing me close as I sank into the comfort of her embrace and patting me softly. My head rested against the beating of her heart.
ADAM’S POV
I entered the car and leaned on the chair, shedding tears profusely.
I’ve seen Anna Leigh since how many months and if feels all my effort to bring her back is for nothing, just because of Evelyn.
“Daddy?” Abigail snapped me out of my thoughts “Why are you crying?”
I’m not supposed to cry in front of here.
I wiped my tears with a sniff, fake smiling “I’m not crying, I’m just sweating.” I lied.
She believed with a nod. Kids are so naive.
I ignited my car engine and drove off. Have I lose Anna Leigh forever? It can’t be. I don’t wanna lose her again, not ever.
ANNA LEIGH’S POV
“Ay ya yai! I’m so exhausted!” Mom groaned as we both entered the house “C’mon, mija.”
I sat and rested on the couch, feeling tired too but it’s mom who did all the work. Yeah, we went to supermarket to get groceries, I followed her to let her know what I want, after that we went to the road to get something to eat and that’s when Adam showed up and ruined my appetite.
“You seriously need to eat something or my grand baby is gonna be disturbing his mama.” She stood and went to the kitchen.
I’ve actually seen Adam since that particular day, he’s been looking for me and I’m always hiding from him. I don’t have enough money to move to another city or country.
I still love Adam so much but I don’t deserve him again, since he’s gotten a good life.
*Adam’s Mansion*
ADAM’S POV
I walked into my living room, holding hands with Abigail, then saw Evelyn serving food in the dining room.
Yeah, she didn’t go to work because of her stupid night shift. Just for today.
“Mommy!” Abigail went and hug her mom “Daddy dress me up, took me to school and pick me up.”
I rolled my eyes with a sigh of tiredness as I fell on the couch, feeling so tired.
“Where were you, mommy?” Abigail asked.
EVELYN’S POV
I caressed my daughter’s face “Mommy’s tired because she worked over night, okay, sweetie?” I carried her and placed her on her chair “By the way, I made your favourite, macaroni and cheese casserole.”
“Yay!” She cheered and I giggled softly, while serving her breakfast.
Adam didn’t even glance at his family or say a word to me, maybe an insult or greetings, nothing, just watching movies from the TV. I feel he’s thinking about something. Did something happen in his office?
“Adam.” I called.
He ignored.
“Adam.”
He ignored again.
“I know you heard me!” I snapped angrily.
“What?” He exclaimed.
“Dinner is ready, come and eat with your family.” I said, serving his food.
He stood, tucking his hands into his pockets and sighed “I already have dinner before coming home, thanks.”
I gritted my teeth “Adam, stop neglecting your family and come here…”
“Look, I’ve done what you want me to do do please, don’t force me to eat when I’m already today, please.” He whined and went upstairs.
I gulped sadly still feeling hurt. If he doesn’t love me again when I still do, he should just love his daughter. I don’t think this plan worked on him.
*The Next Morning*
★Diaz Group Of School★
I escorted Abigail into the school compound and kissed her head “Bye.”
She kissed my cheek, making my heart warm “Bye, mommy.” She ran into the school building.
I stood with a sigh “Hey!” An high school girl in uniform, makeup, pigtails and pink backpack stopped in front of me “Are you Abigail’s mom?”
I nodded “Yes.”
“So you’re the wife of her Mr Rodriguez?” She gasped.
I nodded confusedly “Yes.”
“He’s so hot and handsome, give him this.” She forced a paper on my hand “It’s my number, I know you two aren’t I’m good times so he needs a babe.” She winked with a smirk and left.
I cringed angrily at her walking away and throw the paper into the air “Idiot spoilt brat.”
She’s not even ashamed of herself.
I groaned and walked out of the school gate. I pressed my key button as my car signals it unlocked, I opened and was about to entered.
I spotted a girl coming out of the hospital, opposite my baby’s school.
“Anna Leigh?”
A car in front of her drove away, my eyes widened to see her big stomach.
“Pregnant?!” I exclaimed.
