GEORGE’S MANSION, DINNER TABLE.
“Everything’s fine,” Celine said, trying to recover from her embarrassment.
“It’s just that you look like someone I know, is name his Rudy”
Immediately she mentioned the name Rudy, everything went silent not even a sound of a spoon could be heard.
Everyone on the table stopped eating and began to stare at Cody in silence, especially Nathan, waiting for his response.
Finally, Cody cleared his throat and spoke.
“I’m sorry, I don’t mean to look like him or anyone else”
“I am my own person, and I have my own identity, I hope you can understand that”
“Of course,” Celine said, though her voice sounded uncertain.
“I’m sorry if I offended you. I just… I was a bit taken aback, that’s all”
“It’s alright,” Cody said.
“I understand. It must have been a bit of a shock”
The silence hung in the air for a moment, before Linda broke it by clearing her throat.
“Perhaps we should get back to dinner,” She said, her voice sounding slightly nervous.
“I’m sure we’re all a bit famished”
“Yes, of course,” Celine said.
“I’m sure the food is getting cold” Nathan added, taking a deep breath and they all resumed back to the food.
Three minutes into the food, Cody stopped eating and asked.
“Can we talk for some moment Linda” Cody asked looking serious.
“Huh?” Linda looked at him and she could see the seriousness in his eyes.
“Of course, Cody,” Linda said, her voice calm and soothing.
“Let’s step outside for a moment, so we can have some privacy”
Cody nodded and followed her out of the dinner room.
Nathan and Celine look at them as they walk out.
“So, what are you doing here, Nathan?” Celine asked as she stopped eating her food.
“Ohh, I was brought here by Mr. Cody after he saved my life,” Nathan said.
“Save your life!” Celine exclaimed.
“From what?” She asked.
“From some bad guy, they were really dangerous,” Nathan replied.
“Oh!”
“What about you, Senior Celine, did you come here with your friend?” Nathan asked.
“Yeah,” Celine replied.
“Ohh, is she the one Mr. Cody called Celine” Nathan asked and Celine nodded.
“Yeah” She said and Nathan smiled.
“That’s so nice, seeing you making a new friend, I guess you’re slowly forgetting about Senior Rudy,” Nathan said.
“Yeah, I guess you can say that” Celine faked a smile as she touched her heart and Nathan smiled.
Celine stared at the hand she placed on her heart as she felt the heartbeat.
“You’re wrong Nathan, I haven’t forgotten about Rudy not even once and that guy” She said inwardly and paused.
“Yeah, that guy that looks like Rudy, he reminds me so much of him,” Celine thought inwardly, staring at her food.
“Nathan,” She called slowly.
“Huh? What is it, senior Celine” He asked.
“Don’t you think that guy looks like Rudy?” She asked.
“What guy? Are you talking about Mr. Cody?” Nathan asked.
“Yes,” Celine nodded and Nathan laughed a bit.
“Of course they don’t look alike,” He said, still laughing.
“They might have the same statue but they don’t look alike” Nathan said and stopped laughing.
“Mr. Cody is the complete opposite version of Senior Rudy”
“Mr. Cody is kind, smart, friendly, he doesn’t look scary or cold and he also smiles while Senior Rudy was the opposite of all that although” Nathan paused as Celine frowned at him.
“He is just saying that because he doesn’t know who Rudy is,” Celine said inwardly.
“Although what?” Celine asked.
“Although Alex once called Mr. Cody her brother saying that he is senior Rudy” Nathan said.
“What?”
“Alex called him her brother?”Celine asked in shock as she stood up.
“Yes, and…”
“When? Where? How?” Celine cut him off as she slowly sat down.
“It was at the principal’s office, earlier today,” Nathan replied, remembering what Cody once whispered into his ear the first time they met.
“Mr. Cody once told me that I should protect Alex with my life when we first met but I don’t know what he meant by that,” Nathan said, still remembering the first time they met.
“He looks super scary when he is angry,” Nathan muttered to himself.
He looked at Celine who was still kinda frozen on her seat.
“I wonder what she is thinking about” He thought, focusing on his food.
“If Alex think that guy was her brother, then it’s him, there is no way she won’t recognize Rudy, and that Linda girl as been calling Rudy Cody since we met today”
“This means Rudy is still alive he wasn’t dead after all”
“My heart wasn’t deceiving me at all, it was pounding really hard when I saw him, that’s because he is back, my Rudy is finally back” Celine said all this inwardly.
She stood up and went outside in search of Cody.
OUTSIDE.
Cody and Linda could be seen at the patio, where the moonlight shone down on them.
The air was cool and crisp, and the sound of crickets chirping filled the air.
“What’s going on?” Linda asked, concern evident in her voice.
“You seem upset, is there something wrong”
“I want to help you if I can”
Cody took a deep breath, then looked at Linda.
“I’m not sure where to start,” Cody said and paused.
“But why the hell did you bring her with you?” Cody asked.
“Huh? Who?” Linda asked.
“Stop acting like you don’t know what I am talking about Linda”
“Why the hell did you have to bring Celine here, her of all people?” Cody asked.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Cody,” Linda said.
“Stop acting Linda, I’m sure you know what I am talking about,” Cody said.
“I still don’t know what you’re talking about” Linda said and Cody sighs out in frustration.
“I’m tired of this pretending Linda, just know that if she finds out that I am Rudy it is all your fault” Cody said and walked away in frustration unknown to him he walked past Celine who was eavesdropping on their conversation.
“It is him, it is truly him”
“My Rudy is back he is finally back” Celine said staring at Cody till he was out of her sight then followed him.
Linda who was still standing at the patio suddenly burst into laughter.
“Gosh he kind of looks scary even when he is frustrated” She said and brought her phone.
She quickly dialed a number.
“Hey there, it’s me,” Linda said into the phone.
“Tell him that everything is going according to the way plan and wants,” Linda said and hung up.
“I better hurry back,” She said, hiding her phone.
She began to head back inside.
