“Where is my surprise?” Diane asked, tightly hugging him.
Nate snapped out of his imagination and glanced at the dagger again. He blinked at it for a few seconds and held it tightly.
“Open your eyes and turn back.” He said.
Diane did as instructed and turned back to see his closed hand. As he opened it, a butterfly suddenly flew out of his palm.
The dagger had completely vanished.
“A butterfly.” Diane giggled and started running after it.
Nate stared at her and realized he couldn’t do it. He already destroyed the dagger. He had been waiting for this moment but as he imagined seeing those tears in her eyes, the will to hurt her completely vanished.
“Wow, it’s beautiful.” Diane chuckled, staring at the butterfly on her palms.
“You’re more beautiful.” He complimented and watched as her cheeks turned red.
“Thanks.” She smiled and ran back to him, kissing him on the lips.
She placed her feet back on the floor after smooching his lips.
“Is this what you wanted to do from behind? You’re so confusing.” Diane said and walked to the window, letting the butterfly go.
“Bye.” She waved childishly at it.
This was everything that made Nate change his mind. The innocence,kindness and beauty. He had never seen himself as a good person but he couldn’t bring himself to harm her.
He didn’t understand himself. But he didn’t want to do it.
He walked to the window and hugged her from behind. Diane smiled as she felt his hands around her.
“So, when are you going to help me in controlling my powers?” Diane asked, excitedly. “They seem to be weirdly improving.”
“Tomorrow, I will help you.” He smiled and kissed her hair. “So, start calling me by my right name. Master.”
“Master…” Diane said and laughed.
“What’s funny?” Nate asked, laughing as well.
“I can as well call you Old master” She laughed.
“Don’t you dare.” Nate said, causing her to laugh more loudly.

Amanda’s fortress.
Amanda was staring at a small mirror, watching in anger as Nate and Diane kept talking and laughing close to the window.
Her plan was to be the only one close to the king. She knew that Nate had servants and even a right hand man but he mostly confided in her.
She had also had a crush on Nate since she was younger and succeeded her mother. Her feelings always reignited each time she saw him.
She wanted him to have more power, so he would trust her more and maybe he would look at her one day but there he was captivated by a girl not mature enough for him, so she thought.
“Why her? Why?” her voice cracked and tears stung her eyes.
Kent suddenly appeared in her front and she stopped her whimpering.
“Why have you called me? Do you have the names of all his enemies? So we can start a war.” Kent asked, his eyes twinkling with rage.
The magic mirror went back to normal and she pushed it aside.
“Yes, I do.” Amanda sniffed and grazed her fingers on the table.
All the names of the people that were still alive appeared on the table. They could come together and fight against Nate.
“He has all these enemies…” Kent gasped.
“They aren’t directly his enemies, some of these people are the families of those he killed, they are driven by rage and vengeance. They just need someone from inside the kingdom or close to Nate to have the balls to betray him.” She said, a smug playing on her lips.
Kent sighed.
“Do you have their location?”
“Yes I do. But I must warn you that some of them won’t warmly welcome you. Anyways, you know that you and all of them out together, can’t weaken his Majesty.” Amanda said.
“He’s too powerful but I have something that can weaken him.” Amanda said and chanted a few strange words.
A powdered substance appeared on her hands.
“It’s a kind of ash that once consumed, weakens any supernatural’s power. I can give you a lot of this and you can add it to your father’s tea or drink. He won’t notice and he’s too overconfident that anyone would dare poison him.”
“So, the ball is your court. Kent.” Amanda smiled, she had finally switched sides.
She would rather watch Nate get destroyed than allow him to be happy with Diane.
They weren’t the only ones planning to destroy Nate and Diane.
Lilith also had her own plans, if Nate had seen the devil before then he would certainly recognize Lilith.
A real massager for hell. Ready to ruin the one with the power of the heart who possessed a greater power than most demons and supernaturals.
Hell couldn’t let such a person exist. Diane had to die.

The next morning, Nate and Diane were in a training place in the mansion.
“Use your power to ruin just a leaf of the plant.” Nate instructed.
There were flower pots with plants in them, arranged on a table.
Diane inhaled deeply and stretched her hand, but her powers destroyed the whole pots, including the table.
“Shît” Nate cussed.
Diane giggled, she was so thrilled by what she did but then she realized that she had done something wrong. She had disobeyed her master’s instruction.
“And, you think that this is funny??” Nate shot a glare at her.
“Yes, I did a great job. Though I did it wrongly but I felt so much power that I’ve never felt before.” She giggled again.
Nate walked closer to her and held up her face.
“What punishment can I give you for being so silly?” Nate asked, his voice filled with softness.
Diane blinked rapidly at him and her cheeks reddened.
“Maybe a kiss.”
“You know me too well.” Nate smiled and kissed her lips.
It wasn’t like the other kisses they’ve shared, it was slow and more affectionate.
As their lips parted, Diane muttered. “Thank you, your Majesty. For everything you’ve done. It means a lot to me that someone cares.”
“Call me Nate…” He whispered and kissed her lips again.
“Nate.” She smiled on his lips.
