“Two of you are getting betrothed”my mother said

“What did you just say??”I questioned.
“Young Man I see you are not deaf, you too are getting betrothed whether you like it or not” My dad said.
I kept quiet trying to digest what they just said, l looked at Lizzy who haven’t said anything.
“See my child, this family have been friends since, even before you were born so we made a promise that our child will get married”Mrs Baldwin explained.
“And so????, What if I don’t like your daughter”I asked trying to be respectful.
“You will learn to love her, moreover she is a sweet girl”Mr Baldwin said.
“I don’t care about what you people are saying but all I know is that am not getting betrothed to anyone” I said angrily.
“Mind how you talk too your elders”my dad half yelled.
“Wh@tëver, am done here” I said angrily and stood up and left.
“Will you come back here”I heard my dad’s voice but I paid them deaf ears.
“Don’t worry he will come back soon”I heard my mom’s voice.
Why did they just want to spoil my life and the worst part is that Lizzy is not saying anything.
“Freddie”I heard as I left the restaurant.
I turned and it was Lizzy.
“Freddie”she called again.
“Why didn’t you say any word when our parents was saying trash”I questioned.
“Ummm…it went just that…”, she starmmered.
“Can I beg you for a favour”I asked.
“Go on”
“Go back and tell our parents that you are not interested too”I begged.
“Am sorry I can’t”she said at once.
“What??? Why??”I asked.
“Because I know my parents too well, he doesn’t go back to his words so no need”she said. What type of reasons is that, she should just try.
“Just try, they might hear you out”I said.
“I said no, I won’t and I will never”she said.
“I won’t because I love you”she said.
Wait what did she just say.
“Yes Freddie I loved you from the first day you came to our school but you never gave me attention, you always stay with that fat girl Alexandra”she said.
“What are you saying”I asked again.
“I love you and I will make everything possible to see that you become mine”she said shamelessly.
“I see you are out of your sense”I said and left.
Gosh why are my parents like this forcing me to someone I don’t even like a bit. If it was Alexandra it would have been better.

I left the restaurant gate and saw a cab man and stopped him. Thank God am with some money. I entered and he drove off.
After some minutes we arrived at our mansion gate then I came down and there house was quiet as usual. This girl is an introvert.
I entered our mansion and the gate man was surprised to see me without my parents.
“Good afternoon young master”he greeted but I just ignored him and went inside.
I entered My room and laid on the bed immediately and started thinking of what happened today.
Today I kissed Alexandra twice.
Today I say Jeff hugging Alexandra.
Today my parents told me am getting betrothed with Lizzy.
Today again Lizzy said she loves me.
Am not getting betrothed to anyone, I will marry the person I like and moreover still small to get betrothed. I brought my phone and called Alexandra maybe she will
“Freddie” I heard then I looked up and saw my mom standing, glaring at me angrily.
“What is the meaning of what you displayed there”she asked angrily.
“What did I display there”I asked back angry also.
“You left before the meeting was over”she said.
“And that is because am not getting betrothed to anyone”I said.
“Is it because of that fat girl Alexandra???”she asked.
I kept quiet not knowing what to say again.
“If you are in love with her just cancel that felling cos is never gonna happen”my mom said.
“Who said am in love with her, she is just a friend but am not getting betrothed to that Lizzy” I denied.
“Are you sure of what you are saying”my conscience said.
“My son I know you don’t love her, but it is just a matter of time, you will get to love her”mom preached.
“Mom just leave me alone am not getting betrothed to anyone”I said again.
“Okay tell that to your dad”she said and left.
