HOLLAND HIGH ^^^

Sage played a recording of Jayden’s confession to everyone leaving them astounded.

“When did you record that?” Paulina asked in surprise.

“Just now, when he said he wanted a word.” Sage replied.

“Indeed you are the grandson of the world best lawyer.” Austin hailed, and Michael scoffed.

“What do you want me to do with that?” Michael asked.

“At first, I wanted to report this to the school disciplinary board, but after hearing his confession, I thought against it. The school can’t penalize all the culprits merely because we asked them to, but if the owner of the school himself takes action, no one can stop him.” Sage said, and Michael smiled softly.

“So now you are admiring that he is superior.” Austin said, and Sage scoffed.

“I never said he wasn’t.” Sage blurted.

“Fine, I’ll have them penalized accordingly, but I’m not doing this because you asked, you aren’t deaf when I said Lina was special to me.” Micheal said, and Paulina looked at him.

“She is special to me as well.” Sage said, and they all looked at him.

“Are you trying to prove a point?” Austin asked, and scoffed.

“I’ll send you a copy of the recording, but I’ll hold on to the original copy incase you play foul.”Sage said, and Micheal glared at him.

“I’m a man of my words.” Micheal blurted.

“And this is your chance to prove that.” Sage said, and grabbed Paulina hand, leading her away.

“Why is he always hovering around her?” Micheal shouted making a fist.
*
The MASS returned to their suite later totally ignoring whatever they were planning to do before.

“This is our chance Mike, we can get Ava out of the picture completely. This is the best way to get back at her.” Austin said.

“Mike, can you really do it? You will have to summon Ava to the panel, and she might be suspended or when worse, expelled.”

“serves her right, she should just return to England.” Austin said.

“This is not only about Ava, it also includes Lia, Alicia, and Rae. All four of them.” Stanley said.

“Come to think of it, Mike. I think I now understand Stan. They might deny it, or say it’s voice pitching. They could even make Jayden testify against his words.”

“I’ll tell everyone that I recorded this myself, that way no one could say it’s pitched. And Stanley, I want you to get all the footage since Lina resumed, find anything that could prove Ava involvement with Jayden. Steven, you
find the hospital that Jayden’s grandmother is admitted. Austin you…-“. He was saying but Austin cut in.

“…- there is also a task for me?”

“Find Jayden, and bring him to me.” With that he stood up.

“Where are you going to?” Austin asked.

“To hand the recording over to the disciplinary board.” With that he left.

“Mike is really determined to make Ava regret dumping him.” Austin said.

“I hope that’s the case.” Stanley grumbled, and Austin looked at him.

“What do you mean?” Austin asked.

“I got things to do.” With that he carried his laptop.

“Hey, explain what you meant by that.” Austin shouted, but Stanley ignored him.

Micheal went to Ava’s class, and everyone composed themselves when he went in.

“Hi, Mike. It’s a surprise to see you here.” Lia said, and he smirked.

“I thought I was the only one who had the copy.” He muttered, and she smiled.

“I don’t understand what you are talking about.”

“Don’t play dumb with me.”

“Why? Are you suddenly accepting defeat after seeing the true colors of your little miss special?” She teased.

“I don’t hit women, so don’t let us drag this longer.” He said, and she flinched.

She composed herself later and counted few steps closer to him.

“There is something called backup file, handsome… turn out you aren’t as smart.” She whispered and he chuckled.

“Go and report yourself to the principal if you want to be spared from this.” With that he left.

“What do you mean by that? Spared from what?” Lia shouted after him.

“Babe, what did he want?” Alicia asked.

“He came to threaten me.”

“With what?”

“I don’t know, he just asked me to go and confess to the principal if I want to be spared. I don’t even understand him.”

“What if he actually has something?” Alicia asked.

“What could he possibly have? I’m sure he is just buffing.” Lia blurted.

“And if that’s not the case?” Alicia said, and Lia looked at her in fear.

“What do we do?” Lia grumbled, and they both went to Ava.

“We are in class, later.” Ava blurted.

“Ava, this is really serious.” Lia whined.

“The teacher is here, later.” Ava said, and they both looked at the teacher that entered the class.

“Miss Stanford, Miss Lane, and Miss Alexander, the principal request your presence in his office.” The teacher said.

“We are done for.” Lia lament.

During recess, Paulina went to the cafeteria with Sage, and they both sat together after getting their food.

“This is my first time at the school cafeteria.” She said, and he chuckled.

“You don’t get hungry?” He teased.

“I actually don’t know where I belong. Sophia told me there are different classes of cafeteria.”

“Oh… is that so? Then this is the one for my class. This is where my classmates eats.”

“Oh.”

“You should have gone to the last floor, that could be for the superiors or whatever you guys are called.” He said, and they both laughed.

“Thank you for everything, Sage.”

“What are friends for?”

“Attending that party worth it after all.” She said, and he chuckled.

“But you are in this mess because of that party.”

“It will be over soon, and I’m glad that we might be able to save Jayden as well, he looks so helpless.” She said.

“I hope so.” He muttered, and she looked at him.

“Are you also doubting, Mike?” She asked, and he looked at her.

“Do you also have doubts?” He asked back, and she shook her head.

“I don’t know. I don’t really trust Mike, but he has been acting strange, I don’t understand his true motives, and that baffles me a lot.” She said, and he held her hands.

“Same, but we can always give him a shot, I also have my doubts, that’s why I have a copy with me as well.” He said, and she nodded.

ALEXANDER’S MANSION ^^^
*
Alicia returned home after school and her nanny went to welcome her. Unlike all the other staffs in the house, she was closer to her nanny and they often gist together.

“Madam, your father is home and he received a mail from your school. What trouble have you gotten yourself involved in?”

“Where is he currently?”

“In the living room, your mother is trying to calm him.” She said, and Alicia let out a sigh.

“It’s fine, I got it.”

“What happened at school?”

“Later, I’ll tell you later.” She muttered and went in.

She entered the living room and her mother hurried to her.

“What have you gotten involved with, Alicia?” Her mother shouted.

Is daddy really angry?” She muttered.

“Alicia, you are back.” Her father said, joining them and her heart skips a beat.

“Good evening, daddy.”

“Is there anything good today? What did you get involved with at school? Why did your school have to send me a message?” He shouted, taking her aback.

“Daddy, it’s not me. It’s Lia and Ava, I just got mixed up in it somehow.” She fired back.

“Alicia.” Her mother cautioned.

“Ava? That Stanford’s daughter, is she back?”

“Yes, she returned this week.”

“And you are still associating with her? The daughter of your father’s opponent.” Her mother said

“The daughter of that rude brat who thoughts she knows a lot about politics because of her father’s influence. Why are you still associating with her? Aren’t you aware that I’m running against her mother?”

“Daddy, your political opponent has nothing to do with my friendship. Ava and I have been friends since middle school, and I value our friendship.”

“I knew it. This is all planned by her mother. She wants to use you to tarnish my image; she must’ve put her daughter up to it.”

“Daddy…”

“Do you know how sly that family could be? I’ve been in this political world all my life, I started from the scratch Alicia, and I made my way this far. Do you know how many greedy politicians I associate with? And those Packards’ can do anything to win, they must’ve sent their daughter back to have something against me. They want to use you, Alicia.”

“Daddy!”

“Honey, I doubt if that’s the case.”

“What else could it have been? Alicia has always have her way at school, but now she is being called out for what? Isn’t it obvious that there are people behind this? Someone in power obviously, and it could only be those Stanford’s, they are the only ones with a motive.”

“Daddy, it’s not just me. Even Lia and Rae are involved.” She shouted.

“Lia? That daughter of KSB news? You should stop associating with her as well, her father is working with the opponent party, they might all be in it together “

“Daddy, do you want me to cut ties with all my friends because of your campaign?”

“After the election, my dear. Let’s see if they will still want to be your friend. But for now, it’s either you stay away from them or I send you abroad.”

“Daddy, you are so unbelievable.” With that she stormed out.

“Hey, Alicia, where are you going?” Her father shouted.

“Honey, just leave her be. What are we going to do about the situation?”

“I’m going to call chairman Russ now, what could our daughter ever done wrong to be summoned by the disciplinary board? I’m not making huge donations, and paying a fortune for her tuition to get such treatment. This could only be from the opponent, they are trying to get our daughter expelled so they could tarnish my image.”

“That’s never going to happen, honey. You should call chairman Russ now.”

Ava arrived home from school, and her mother sent a driver to pick her up. Her grandfather recently returned from his vacation, and the family planned to meet up for their usual family dates. Being in England spared her from attending such events, and now she couldn’t even contain her anger at the thought of resuming to it again.

She arrived at the resort they usually meet up and met her mother there.

“Mum.”

“What took you so long? I sent the driver few hours ago.”

“It was importune. I had to take my time to prepare. I haven’t seen grandfather in a long time.”

“Oh… I see. And your school prepared the utmost surprise for us. What’s that about, Ava? I asked you to behave. What did you get involved with to be summoned by the school disciplinary board?”

“It’s just a trifle with a bottom class student, I didn’t expect the school to take it that far.”

“I warned you to behave yourself, Ava. Just until the election is over, but you couldn’t even last a week!”

“It’s just a trivial matter, the school boards are exaggerating it.”

“I’ll make sure this doesn’t become an issue, but father mustn’t hear about this, and you must not mention Paulina either. He went to receive a call, he will return soon. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes mum.” Ava muttered, and looked away.

“Your grandfather is coming, compose yourself.” Ms. Grace muttered when they saw Mr. Packard coming their way.

He approached them with a smile, and Ava exchanged pleasantries with him.

“Ava, I see you have been on a low. Just until the election is over, I want you to maintain that. Your mother will become the mayor, and climb the ladder as governor next. You should grow up fast as well, and your grandfather will make you the president.” He said, and they both forced a smile.

“Father, isn’t that too much?” Ms. Grace asked.

“Nothing is too much, my granddaughter can become the first youngest president in California. I might have stopped as the prime minister, but that wasn’t my limit, I was just too old to keep climbing. But I’ll make my granddaughter the president.” He said, and patted Ava’s shoulder. “What do you think, my dear?” He asked, and Ava smiled.

“I appreciate it grandpa, it’s huge but that’s where I belong.” She replied, and they all laughed.

“Do you see that? That’s the spirt. My granddaughter is so much like me. If you weren’t chasing Paul around while you were younger, you would have learnt a lot as well, and could have climbed the ladder higher by now.”

“Father, it’s not late until it’s over.”

“Well… you got that. Noting is late, as long as you are my daughter.” He said, and they all smiled. “Ava, how does it feel to be back?”

“I wish I could return.” She wanted to say but changed her mind. “No special feelings, but it’s nice since I could see you on our regular dates again.”

“That’s my girl. Grace, why is your husband not here yet?”

“Dad, he can’t make it. He has important meetings.”

“Important meeting? So this isn’t important enough for him to clear his schedule beforehand. That good for nothing husband of yours is always finding an excuse to escape meeting with me.”

“Dad, it’s nothing like that.”

“Shut that mouth! He is really different from his parents, I should have known better before letting you marry him.” ‘

“Dad…”

“Come with me, Ava. You should only watch your grandfather’s step.” With that he led Ava away.
*
They all went for an archery section together, and he took his time to monitor Ava who didn’t cease to impress him.

“You’ve become so good over the year, Ava. You are just that girl.” He said, and they all smiled.
*
They engaged in horse racing, and he asked Ava to race with the fastest horse rider among his men.

“Father, you want Ava to compete with Caleb?” Ms. Grace asked.

“No one has ever won against Caleb, but Ava has to prove that she has what it takes to be win if she really wants to be the future president.” He said, and his daughter let out a sigh.

“I’ll give it a shot, grandpa.” Ava blurted, and her mother looked at her.

“Ava…” Ms. Grace called.

“That’s the spirit, Ava. You’ve to take little challenges like this to overcome bigger one in the future.”

“I understand, grandpa.”

“Caleb, no foul play. This is simply a game to test my granddaughter’s capabilities.” He said, and Caleb nodded.

“I understand, sir.”

They engaged in the race and Ava tried her best to win her competitor while her grandfather watch in amusement cheering her on until the race ended and Ava failed to beat her competitor.

“You’d well, Ava. The horse was just too slow.” Her grandfather said.

“Angie has been a good horse, I just couldn’t beat him.” Ava said, and her grandfather shook his head.

“No, my dear. It is all the horse fault. We should teach it some lesson.”

“What? Grandpa.”

“You should never blame your incapacity on yourself, my dear. Let others carry the blame. That’s how you win. Now, shot it.” He said, and gave theater arrow.

“Grandpa, but Angie did nothing wrong. It has been a good girl since you gift her to me.” She said in a sober.

“It is a gift to you, so you can have your way with it. Will you shot it?”

“Ava, get it done.” Her mother whispered loud enough for her to hear, and she started to shiver as she remembered when he gifted her the horse.

FLASHBACK to when Ava was 10-year-old.***
*
During the launching of the resort, the family members arrived early, and her grandfather brought the horse to her.

“Wow, it’s so beautiful.”

“Don’t dwell on beauty, you should focus on its purpose.” Her grandfather said.

“Ava, do you’ve any name in mind for grandpa’s present to you?” Her father asked patting her hair.

“Angie, she is Angie.” She said touching the horse, and her father smiled.

FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
She grew fond of the horse over the years, and trained it well, so she couldn’t bear to shot it.

The arrow fell off her hand, and she shook her head.

“I can’t. “ she muttered, and her grandfather pat her back.

“Yeah, you shouldn’t get your hands dirty.” He said, and collected a gun from one of his guards shot the horse leg, and also shot Caleb’s shoulder.

“No, Angie.” Ava cried.

Caleb held his shoulder, and Mr. Packard chuckled.

“You should always know when to win, that’s how you will know your place. Ava, that’s how you win.” With that he left.

“Why are you such a weakling?” Her mother blurted, and followed.

Ava made a fist staring at their retreating back, the horse was taken away for treatment, and she went to pick her arrow trialing after them to the stable to look at the horse.

“I should have won.” She muttered, and shot it with two arrows before leaving.
