Kennedy frowned
The frown disappeared like it never came,it got replaced with a sweet, scary smirk,a brow raised
füç?,this is Kennedy
Kennedy’s eyes left the young mother before him and they landed on the little boy

“One,Never said he was mine”He muttered and went on a knee. Kayla moved backward a bit, pulling confused Kieran
“Two, I on think so”Kennedy continued and gave the little boy a warm smile…..the warmest one he could create
“What’s your name?”he asked
“I’m Kieran, what’s your name?”Kieran asked confidently
“Kennedy and I think I love you”Kennedy said and gave Kayla one of those flirty looks. “how old are you?” He faced Kieran
“I’m five years old”Kieran smiled. Kennedy looked up at Kayla and raised his left brow. She looked away
“I think I love you too. And since my dad who’s far away won’t be coming back now,be my dad till he returns”Kieran added
Kennedy smiled and nodded, trying to touch him but Kayla pulled Kieran to herself,his head reaching her hips
“shhh,it’s not possible”she cautioned
“hell,it is”Kennedy replied and stood up “especially if the acting dad turns out to be the real one”he added
“Dark haired, go join the coaster”Kayla said and his eyes lit
“really momma?”he gasped
“Yeah”Kayla whispered with a nod. Kennedy watched in silence till Kieran disappeared from their sight
Kayla stared at Kennedy and looked away, embarrassed
“He’s not your son”she muttered. Kennedy raised a brow and smiled, dipping his hands in his denim trouser-jean pockets
“Really,not my son?” he asked
“The face? Same”He started, Kayla clenched her fists
“The smile? Same”Ken continued “and he’s five years old” he added and Kayla burst into tears
Kennedy covered the space between them and hugged her,his scent taking control
“I’m sorry,I didn’t know…..I didn’t know you went through all those..I..”
“And that is why you went into killing,the reason why you became a killer?”Kayla pushed him away,his eyes darkened
“You almost killed a man,you’re heartless Kennedy…this isn’t the Kennedy I know. Now tell me,how many have you killed before we met again? Maybe hundreds or thousands of…”
“It was Grayson” Kennedy cut her off. Clean,sharp and calm. Kayla blinked
“The man you saw…..was Grayson”Ken repeated
Kayla gulped and shook her head, running away
“What’s up, bestie”Claire walked to him,she placed her head on his shoulder,he didn’t move
He stared at Kayla carrying Kieran,watched them leave, before she fully went outta his sight,she locked eyes with him
“Gosh,that Kyla of a girl is weird,does she know how how you sided her even without knowing if she was füç?in’ alive or dead”Claire talked, Kennedy remained quiet
“You füç?in kept Malice with me for ages just cause I called her dummy”she continued and Kennedy chuckled slowly
“I’m gonna give her a lesson,by the way when are we leaving back to our country? They’re some establishments in….”
“I’m not leaving South Korea till I settle things with Kayl”Kennedy replied and pushed her away gently, before walking
“what? Your company…wanna leave it in your manager’s hands for too long? Ken!”Claire ran after him

•Kayla’s Home~Kitchen•
Kayla broke the last egg into the bowl and picked the whisk, whisking the egg. She carried the bowl and turned to Kieran who’s by the door, sketching on a sheet on the floor
“Did you know him before?”Kieran asked
“who?”Kayla asked
“my acting dad,you acted like you knew him before now”Kieran replied
“No Dark Haired,he’s just a random guy I met some weeks ago…and today by coincidence”Kayla lied
“Seems I like him,he’s nice and handsome”Kieran shrugged,Kayla blinked
“what do you know ’bout being handsome”she asked
“My teacher tells me I’m handsome so I think it’s used mainly for boys. Girls are pretty”Kieran looked at her
“So I’m what?”Kayla blinked cutely
“Pretty”Kieran winked and she laughed
“So…will he be my dad? Momma will you let him?”Kieran stood up
“Kieran,it’s not that easy. One can only have a mom and dad together if they’re both married”Kayla muttered thinking the topic will end there
“Then get married already,he’ll be my dad when you marry him right?”Kieran asked
“Jeez,Kieran Eddy Jerkins!”Kayla screamed

•The Next Week~Happy Restaurant•
Kayla arrived tired and hungry,the last food in the house was what Kieran took to school and worse?
She trekked all the way down here
She’ll just find what to eat later in the day,buh now,she ought to work
Kayla almost entered the restaurant when….
“Where do you think you’re going?”Mrs Won asked behind her and she froze
“Good morning Ma….Madam”Kayla turned like a robot
“That doesn’t answer my question”Mrs Won crossed her hands below her breasts
“I…I…was going in….was about entering”Kayla stuttered
“Where? I hope not. It’s not my restaurant, right?” Mrs Won said in sarcasm, Kayla gulped and blinked same time
“Anyway, since you didn’t bother coming the previous Saturday,I didn’t bother calling, I thought you had found a new place” Won said and Kayla gasped
“To make it simple, There’s no place for you Miss Kayla”Mrs Won added and walked in
Kayla stood rooted,then she lost balance,she had to rest on the wall to stop herself from falling

She just lost her source of livelihood?

Is her mother angry with her up there?

Kayla stood straight as she walked down the busy road

Flashback~Twelve Years Ago
Kayla and her mother walked out of the fish mini market, heading towards the fruit and veggies section to get cucumbers for Kayla
Mrs Moore prefers open market than malls or stores for reasons best known to her….or maybe cause open market things are cheaper
Kayla held her mother’s hands tightly as she led the way, smiling cutely, touching the butterfly hairpin seated on her hair
“I’ll keep it forever”she said
“Not possible, it’ll get old soon”her mother said. Kayla frowned deeply and scoffed
“I’ll forever keep it”she argued,her mom laughed
Kayla started trotting forward, leaping and running. She let go of her mother before knowing it
“Kayla”Mrs Moore yelled
Kayla paused and turned back, she’s in the middle of the busy market road
“Mom!”she screamed. She can’t even tell where she is or where her mom’s gonna be “mom”Kayla started crying. A car charged towards her and her mom appeared from the crowd, pushing her away
Too bad cause the car hit the woman with full speed and the driver didn’t stop
“Noooo”

Kayla stood on the pavement,she’s crossed without knowing
Before she could realize her doom,a car sped towards her…..
She fainted
