Silence took over

The quietness made Kayla look down cause all eyes are on her

She nodded and started picking carefully, stylishly watching the scanner as it scanned

Ken ignored her and started pointing at some heels and gold necklaces
Kayla watched him immensely with a small smile….
“He’s so hot”someone whispered behind her and she turned with a glare

•Royal Elementary~Closing Hour•
Kieran walked to the waiting lounge with a teacher who held his bag
“Thanks mam”he collected the bag. He searched for Jane with his eyes and when he spotted a lone wolf,he smiled and walked to her
“Hey,it’s hurts”he sat beside her “you don’t wanna talk to me”he added
Jane raised her head from her laps, revealing her teary eyes

“No,it’s not about anything. It’s mom,dad punched her last night”Jane muffled
“Don’t cry again,Jane. It’s all gonna be over soon”Kieran patted her shoulder
“My dad and mom will be taking me out today, they’ll both come pick me up”Glad told his friends but it was loud enough for Kieran and Jane to hear
“My parents are living peacefully unlike someone’s parents”he added and Jane sniffled
“Hey he’s a jerk”Kieran held her hand,she smiled and they both walked out
Glad laughed and followed them ready to say silly things when a car stopped before the school entrance
“Wowww”some students gushed
Thing is they haven’t seen that type of car before. It’s sleek and new as fúck
Kennedy and Kayla came down in sync and Kieran widened his eyes in surprise and happiness
Kayla looks stunning,her hair isn’t in a bun anymore. She’s in a long black gown with opening at the middle of both legs. The opening is damn visible and her smooth laps showed one by one anytime she takes a step

“That’s your dad and…your mom.”Jane pointed

“Jane, come over,”Ken called with his fingers. Jane smiled and stuck out her tongue at Glad before running to Ken
“Look your mom and dad’s here,Glad”Another of Glad’s friend pointed
Glad stared at his parents and back at Kieran’s….. They’re lotta differences
“they’re old”the first one said and Glad glared at him
“Sowie”he made faces
“Glad your parents”a guide called
“I know”He muttered and walked to them
“Bye Glad”Jane and Kieran chorused and he ran out without waiting for his parents
They laughed
“You’re friend?”Ken asked
“Pfft”Jane scoffed
“He’s Glad. One who called you ugly”Kieran explained
“Jane, your mom’s here”A guide called
Jeanette stood far away,her face is covered with a scarf round her head
Jane smiled and ran to meet her,they entered her car and drove away
“Gosh I’m tired”Kieran groaned and fell dramatically on Kennedy
•A Week Later~Hotel•
The week has never been better for Jenevieve. She’s been around Xavier and he seemed comfortable with her
She hasn’t set her eyes on Claire since last week and when she knocked on her door,she found out Claire wasn’t in the hotel anymore
Something is wrong with the dangerous looking lady and Jenne doesn’t know but she’s worried about her

“And if buying me lunch were children, I’d have a thousand”Xavier replied,she laughed
“Okay…this question has been in my mind. You’re a graduate,I know buh why working as a room service waiter. I mean,yeah the hotel is luxurious and worth working in but not you”She said
“I guess I’m not lucky in finding a good job”Xavier shrugged “I have to work to earn a living”he added
“What bout your family?”Jane leaned
“Dad died last year. I don’t know my mom”he replied
“oh my gawd…I’m sorry”Jenevieve widened her eyes
“I’m not even sorry…he’s suffered enough. He has to rest”Xavier said
“And you’re an Austrian”Jenne said
“Yeah”he nodded
“I’m happy I’m here but I know Big Charles. He’ll want me back home,maybe he’s busy not to suspect I’m not at home”She rolled her eyes
“Don’t you think you should go back, you’re his heir”Xavier said
“Nah,he should arrest me for all he cares. I’m not going back,I’ll buy my first restaurant here…with who I love”she replied
“Have you found him now ever since you arrived here?”he asked
“Hmm… I guess I have”She smiled and picked a glass filled with water,she drank
“I met him not long ago,this month”she added
“Ohh”that was what Xavier could utter
“He’s cool,nice,quiet and fun to be with. I haven’t told him my feelings yet,but I love him very much…I hope he does too”She added
Xavier nodded uncomfortably. Maybe he doesn’t wanna hear more…just maybe

Kayla payed for everything bought and was about walking out with Kieran when Jeanette entered with Jane
Jeanette looks pale but better,at least her cheeks aren’t swollen anymore
“Kieran!”Jane gushed
“Wow,Jane”Kieran ran to her
“Hi Kayla”Jeanette waved with her fingers
“Hey, Jane’s mom”Kayla walked to her,they shook hands
“You’ve forgotten my name so soon”Jean smiled
“I’m even surprised you know mine”Kayla replied
“The first day our kids introduced us? Remember?”Jean said and chuckled
“I’m Jeanette”she nodded
“Nice meeting you again Jeanette and I’m sorry…wait what?”Kayla blinked when realization hit her
•Night, Street•
Claire stayed on her bike, she’s barely sitting as she stared at her phone screen
She’s hidden from the street lights and the street seems quiet that night….
So still and quiet
And at last,it came.
What she’s been waiting for. A message finally entered her phone

Claire nodded like he was there,she sat properly on her bike,put on her helmet,make her engine come to life and drove away
•Next Day~3pm. Chad’s Mansion•
Jeanette waited patiently in Jane’s room, staring at her phone screen. Immediately the time clocked 3,she stood up from the bed
This is the chance. She has to run away for good. She can’t bear staying with someone like Chad
He’s of no help. He’s of no good
This is the only way,she has to pretend like she’s leaving to pick Jane from school
Yeah she’s really picking her up from school but they’re not coming back here
Jeanette has had enough. She knows Chad isn’t easy but she just have to try her luck

Jeanette rushed out of the bedroom and ran down the stairs to the livingroom

Jeanette rolled her eyes and walked to the door
“Where are you going?”Chad noticed her presence
“To pick up Jane from school”She replied and placed on her scarf around her head

“How dare you…”He tried saying but the lady’s lips found their way into his mouth. They kissed
“You’re so wild”he licked his lips,she winked and crawled back to his crotch

“Your punishment–don’t use the car”Chad told Jeanette and fell his head back on the headrest
Jeanette rolled her eyes and walked out. “You think I’d wanna use your car? You’re not seeing me or my daughter”she thought

Ken and Kayla stayed on the car bonnet, waiting patiently for something
Kieran and Jane stayed by the car, crying
Saying farewell to each other but Ken and Kayla didn’t even look their way. Maybe because they know Jane won’t go nowhere
Kayla’s making video calls with Jenne and both are saying crazy things
Ken only chipped in when necessary
“When are you both getting married already”Jenevieve rolled her eyes and Kayla looked at Ken who wasn’t looking, she quickly moved away
“Are you crazy?”She asked
“I am, girl. I’ve always been crazy, you and Ken have been together..what am I even saying,you’re still together.”Jenne replied,she’s winking as she walked to a large building
“Jenne…I haven’t told you.”Kayla shook her head
“We haven’t had much time”Jenne nodded
“Ken’s a…”
“Xavier is coming out. My restaurant is amazing….over and out.”Jenne squealed and hung up
Kayla sighed. Not like she’s not happy to see Eddy after five years
Or Kieran’s dad finally came back
But…
She’s scared
Her thoughts got swept off when Jeanette came out of a taxi
Kayla ran to her before she could enter again with Jane
Ken watched,then tilted his head, signalling an unseen human
“Sorry Jeanette but I’ve got something to show you”Kayla said
“Not now Kayla,we really have to go”Jean pleaded
“What if I say someone?”Kayla insisted
“I..”Jeanette widened her eyes when Claire appeared from nowhere with a sad, happy and satisfied smile on the corner of her lips
“It’s eighteen years,Jean twinnie”she muttered
Jane stood without understanding a thing,Kieran ran to her and hugged her,not wanting her to leave with her mom
“Claire Dunkel”Jeanette gasped
“Jeanette Dunkel”Claire smiled
