“I said don’t come any closer… ARGH!!!!” Her leg
slipped and she fell.
“Kourtney!!” Mrs. Washington screamed at the
top of her lungs, rushing to the window.
She looked down and there Kourtney was,
hanging at the edge like a scared little cat. Mrs.
Washington’s heart pounded in her chest, fear
and anxiety cascaded through her and she took
off.
“Hold on baby, mommy is coming,” she ran out
of the room.
It was dark, and the wind was blowing hard,
Kourtney clung to the ledge, her fingers aching
from the strain. She could feel her grip starting
to slip as she awaited her mother’s arrival. She
looked up at the balcony above her, but it was
too far, her arms were trembling, and she knew
she couldn’t hold on much longer, she was five
stories up and the ground below looked like a
black void.
It was as if time had stopped as the wind
whipped through her hair, she felt her grip
losing, it was just her fingers that clung to the
ledge and right now she was not sure if she was
gonna make it. Her fingers were gradually
slipping and she was more than terrified.
She looked down below and her stomach
lurched.
“Baby let go,” she heard her father’s voice from
below.
“No Daddy,” she shook her head negatively.
“I said, let go!!” Mr. Washington’s voice was
deep and commanding, Sending shivers of fear
through her. Kourtney wanted to protest but her
fingers failed her, they slipped from the edge
and…
“ARGH!!” She screamed, her eyes closed tight
as she plummeted towards the ground. She’d
expected to hit the ground and have her whole
body shatter but nothing of such happened,
instead, she was in a strong arm.
Slowly she opened her eyes only to behold her
father’s strong face.
“Daddy,” she mumbled as he gently kept her
back to her feet.
Without saying another word Mr. Washington
began walking away.
“My Baby,” Mrs. Washington hugged her tightly,
she cupped her cheeks, worshiping her face
with kisses.
IN THE NEXT MINUTES.
Mrs. Washing walked into the room while her
husband was dressing up, looks like he was
getting ready for the family gathering.
“What’s with the long face? Nothing happened
to her, have asked them to keep her in a room
without windows. That way she won’t think of
suicide ever again and her guards have been
doubled,” He said while putting on his trousers.
“Honey, she’s not a prisoner in her father’s
house, she only found love…”
“She knows nothing about love,” he caught her
off.
“You don’t get it do you?” she asked moving
closer.
“It is you that don’t get it, Mio Angelo, she
brought shame to my family, to me. You of all
people should know that there are rules in my
family and no child of mine is supposed to
break any, she’s no ordinary girl. if you’re here
to plead on that boy’s behalf then you’re
wasting your time,” he said and picked up his
tie, “that boy is an ordinary boy…”
“I was an ordinary girl when you took me to
your father,” Mrs. Washington cut him off and
he shouted her a glare.
“I had no silver nor gold, have you forgotten? I
wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth, I
wasn’t worthy to stand before your father but
you took me to him…”
“That’s because I am a man!” Mr. Washington
suddenly yelled. “There are rules, and she must
obey them,” he added.
“You mean the rules you can change?” she
asked.
Mr. Washington was silent.
“You’re a very terrible man,” she pointed out
and he scoffed.
“Took you so long to notice,”
“Oh really? Listen to me Washington….”
“Watch it!” He swiftly turned to her but she
didn’t budge.
“If anything, happens to my daughter I will
never forgive you for the rest of my life, you can
write it down.” she turned around, walking
towards the door.
“Mio Angelo,”
She slammed the door.

>BACK AT THE PARTY<
Lorenzo is seen seated and sipping from his
wine while watching Jackson and Kim dance to
the rhythm of the music playing on dance floor,
he shifts his gaze to Khalid and Audrey and she
seems to be having fun.
“Hey,” Rainbow smiled brightly at him, settling
down on the chair next to him.
Lorenzo was silent.
“I… umm… we meet again, our first meeting
didn’t go so well, I guess this one will,” she
offered a handshake.
“I’m Rainbow,”
“What am I supposed to do with that
information?” Lorenzo asked, his tone cold and
high.
Rainbow flinched back and gulped emptiness.
Füçk he was cold-hearted.
“Wanna dance?” she asked, trying to initiate a
conversation.
Lorenzo glared at her, his eyeballs were blaring
with so much darkness she couldn’t keep up
with it. There was no single smile on his face
making her get up and take her purse.
“I will come around,” she faked a smile, trying
so hard to keep her cool but the guy was d@mn
scary.
Rainbow looked around the hall, trying to find
Kim. There was another hall where people were
trooping in but the guards didn’t let her in cos
she had no tag so she came here. Shifting her
faze to the end of the hall, she saw Kim dancing
with Jackson.
Her face twitched in anger. Jackson was hot
though not close to Lorenzo, but he looked rich,
how many boyfriends does Kim have? No
wonder this one is here acting all grumpy.
She started walking over to her, but someone
suddenly grabbed her hand, taking her to a dark
corner.
Meanwhile, Khalid watched as the singer
dropped his mic, he glanced at Audrey then a
cruel smile appeared on his lips.
“I remember you saying you could sing some
time ago,” he said, more like a question.
Audrey chuckled softly
“I can, but not in a place like this,” she replied
“Why not?” he crossed his arms as if throwing
a challenge to her.
“Cos it’s mostly love song,” she shrugged
“So you think we are here for burial?” he
knowingly asked, giving her that ‘what the Füçk”
look
“It’s not like that, come on,” she tapped his
shoulder playfully.
He badly wanted to laugh at her reactions but
he tapped it down.
“Are you singing or what?”
“I’m not” she replied calmly
Khalid scoffed.
“Hey, this lady over here wants to sing a song
for us,” he waved at the guy on the stage.
Audrey gasped in shock, when did she ever say
that? For Peter’s sake, she sings in a club, not at
a place like this. Oh, good lord!
She rested her palm on her forehead in
frustration.
“Come on,” Khalid gestured, winking at her
“I swear I’m gonna kîll you,” she mumbled, and
he stuck out his tongue in a funny way.
Audrey hesitated, slowly she turned around only
to see the people on the dance floor staring at
her, she instantly became nervous.
“Come on, Audrey,” Khalid knowingly screamed
Ever since he noticed that she always got upset
when he teased her, he made it his hobby to do
it often.
“Sing! Sing! Sing! Sing!” Khalid began chanting
and before she could know it, the whole crowd
joined him.
Having no other choice she took the mic, she
wasn’t prepared for this.
“Come on baby!! DJ hit it!!” Kim’s loud voice
came from the crowd as she gave her a thumbs
up.

By the time she finished, the crowd was silent
like a graveyard. Audrey closed her eyes, she
couldn’t stand the looks of many people on her.
d@mn, Khalid for making her embarrass herself
like this.
She knew they wouldn’t like it, she only sings
love songs and she’s always prepared but today
is different.
Loud cheers from the crowd made her open her
eyes, every one of them applauded her with
genuine smiles on their faces.
“Wow, now I will open my heart for love to roll
in,” Khalid said as she walked off the stage
She smiled.
“You like it?”
“Superb, I’ve heard your voice somewhere but I
just can’t figure out where…”
“At the strippers club downtown,” she quickly
cut him off, and he shot her a glare
“You’re a stripper?”
“Nah, a singer,” she replied as she settled down
on his lap.
He looked at her face surprised, he’d always
been the one to pull her down to his lap but now
she did it herself.
“Can I have this dance gentleman?” she asked
and opened her palm.
Khalid chuckled.
“Of course, my lady,” he placed his palm on
hers as he drove to the center of the dance floor.
Slow music was playing in the background.
Meanwhile, Lorenzo was watching everything,
the way they danced even though Khalid
couldn’t stand, he sat on his chair watching as
they joined heads together.
“You’re beautiful even though you’re skinny,”
Khalid whispered as he leaned closer, his left
hand going to her neck. He looked down at her
lips before shifting his gaze to her face as if
seeking permission.
“Get laid, it’s not like you’re married or
something,” Kim’s words came running into
Audrey’s head.
“Kiss me already, will you?” she said, and
Khalid calmed her lips in a hard kiss.
“They look so cute,” Kim glanced at Jackson
who was watching.
“Yeah, we can do that you know,” he said
jokingly, and she laughed at him.
“Joker,” she mumbled
Just then, her phone beeped. She quickly checks
to see a message from Mrs. Washington.
“Momma Kim, I will be right back,” she said to
Jackson and walked out of the hall.

>SAME NIGHT<
Mr. Washington alighted from the Limo with his
wife by his side as they approached the other
hall different from where the party was going
on. He glanced over at his wife and her face
was stone cold.
“Mio Angelo, are you still mad at me?” he
asked, but she ignored him.
He took out his phone and texted someone, Mrs.
Washington was already waiting at the entrance
door when he joined her. They walked into the
large room filled with different people, men,
women, and children.
It looks like fifty people or more are in the room
and the center table is so long and large that
they’ll have to speak into the small microphone
attached to the table.
“And here comes my little nephew,” His uncle
Niccole said with a ÇOçky smile.
From nowhere, Lorenzo knocked him off his
feet and Niccolo fell with a loud thud.
“The fact that you’re my uncle doesn’t mean
that you shouldn’t address me accordingly,” Mr
Washington said, his tone rough.
Four bodyguards launched forward but Lorenzo
kicked the one in front and he collided with
others, falling to the floor, he gave the second
one an uppercut then punched the third guy on
his rib, knocking him out. The last guy came
with full force and he waited till he got close
before sending a long kick to his balls, he
dropped cold.
Women and children stared shocked, not like it
was the first time but it came too early.
“That is enough!!” an elderly man said but
Lorenzo didn’t stop, with the anger of Audrey
and Khalid kissing doubled with Jackson and
Kim, he wanted nothing but to let it all out on
someone and his father’s uncle happened to
step on his toe.
“Dad!! Uncles call off your son!” Niccole’s son
shouted.
“He’s strangling our father!!” Niccole’s younger
son shouted.
“Washington call off your wolf,” the elderly
man said and Washington chuckled
“But I like what I’m seeing,” he chuckled.
“Now!! Washington!” the elderly man yelled
“Fine father, but your brother should learn to
address me accordingly. let him go,” Mr.
Washington said, and Lorenzo let go of the man
who landed on the floor with a loud thud.
“I said it! He was violent, he’s not supposed to
be the one leading a large family, he is a
disaster!!” Niccole coughed, rubbing his palm
softly over his neck.
“If only you had addressed me accordingly,”
Mr. Washington said firmly.
Niccole glared dangerously at him.
“Never will I address a little boy I’m older than
with so much respect,” Niccole growled,
standing on his feet.
Lorenzo who’s standing beside his father
charges forward and Niccole’s son charges
forward too.
“You wanna die? You’re no match for me
Lewis” Lorenzo snarled, his voice razor-sharp.
“Just cos they call you Satan doesn’t mean
everyone should be afraid of you…” Lorenzo
grasped his neck instantly.
“You see that? They are violent!!!” Niccole
yelled and held his son’s shoulder while staring
at the elders among them.
Lorenzo’s father was still alive and so was his
right-hand man and very good friend but they
were old.
“Washington!! Call off your wolf, I won’t say it
again,” the elderly man said, banging his fist on
the table.
Lorenzo looked at his father who nodded then
he let go of Lewis’s neck. And stood right beside
his father, arms crossed behind his back.
Mrs Washington walked over and whispered
into her husband’s ear before heading to the
door.
Meanwhile, Kim was coming towards the hall
when she saw her walking down the long
hallway.
The security at the door allowed her in cos of
the limitless card given to her by Mrs
Washington.
“Momma Kim,” she called walking right into the
restroom but didn’t see anyone.
With the thought of Mrs Washington being in
one of the closed doors, she began speaking.
“I came as soon as I saw your text, sorry I’m late
please don’t be mad, the security in this building
is so tight,” she explained but got no response.
“Momma Kim,” she boldly walked to the first
closed door and pushed it open
No one, but she saw Mrs Washington enter here,
she thought silently as she began checking the
others.
On the last one, she saw a wedding ring on the
floor then she picked it up confused, she turned
it back and forth, running towards the window
only to see a guy dressed in black carrying
someone In a bridal style.
Without thinking she jumped through the
window, Kim ran as fast as she could then
leaped in the air, sending a devastating long
kick at the unknown guy’s back, he
somersaulted, and the person in his arms rolled
to the corner
“Momma Kim,” Kim shouted and knelt before
the unconscious woman.
She checked her pulse and then glared at the
guy covering his face.
“What did you do to her?”
“Same thing I will do to you,” the guy replied,
showing her a needle.
She rose to her feet and positioned herself and
he laughed.
“Women!! I wanted to let you go but seems I will
just finish you off,” He charged forward.
“Or maybe I will finish you off,” Kim charged
forward too but suddenly slowed down when
she saw two guys dressed in the same attire
rushing to them…..
