CHAIRMAN GREENWOOD’S MANSION^^^
^
Sage pieced together the event that happened earlier at school, and reflected on Micheal confession.
*
*
FLASHBACK to Michael’s earlier confession ***
*
Sage struggled to find his way to the front, and when he finally succeeded, Michael’s words made him dumbfounded.
“…- My feelings for you disappeared the moment we broke up, and I moved on after meeting Lina again,” Mike said, and freed his hands from Ava grip.
*
*
FLASHBACK ENDS***
*
Sage exhaled heavily and remembered Michael’s words again.
“Why did he indicate meeting Paulina again in his words?” He thought, and laid flat on his bed. “Does that mean they had a history together? Could that be what she is hiding from me?” He exclaimed, running in fingers through his hair. “Don’t relent, Sage, regardless wh@tëver history was between them, you’ve to fight for what you want, that’s how to be a man,” he muttered in determination.

CHAIRMAN STANFORD’S MANSION^^^
^
Paulina tossed and turned on her bed trying to gather her thoughts together. After the scene at school, she left school with Austin while Micheal left in a hurry for a meeting.
*
She took her phone, and sent a message to Steven to hear his thoughts about the confessions, but it took longer for him to reply so she called him.
📞*Hello, I sent a message to you, come online!* She shouted, and dropped the call.
.
She checked her message, and waited for a minute before he replied.
💬She: *Whats your thoughts about Mike’s confession?*
💬Him: *Nothing, but don’t get ahead of yourself *
💬She: *😡. What’s that supposed to mean?*
💬Him: *Good night 😉*
She hissed in annoyance and dropped her phone when it started ringing. She checked the caller ID excitedly thinking it was Steven who called her back after returning to his senses, but her face fell in disappointment when she saw it was Sage.
She exhaled heavily before she received the call.
📞 *Hello,*
📞*What? You’re here?*
📞*Yes, I know we were supposed go go out, but…*
📞*Is Sophie with you?*
📞*Alright, I’ll join you in a jiffy*
*
She dropped her onine and hurried to go freshen up with thoughts that hanging out with Sage will help her think properly.
She descending the stairs when she saw Ava who smirked immediately they gaze met.
“Enjoy while you can, but remember that it’s not over yet,” Ava said, walking past her.
“That’s rich coming from someone who was publicly rejected on her own stage!” Paulina blurted, and Ava turned around in furry.
“What did you say?” She snapped.
“What you heard, I don’t have time to repeat myself. I got a date,” she mocked, and hurried away.
Ava scoffed at her retreating back, and her face twist in anger.
“You’ve gone too far, now I’ll show you why I’m the queen!” she muttered with clenched fist.
*
Paulina went out and met Sage standing by his car waiting for her.
“Hi,” he said cheerfully, upon seeing her.
“Hi,” she muttered, unsure of the right word to say.
“Shall we?” He asked, and she nodded.
*
They watched a movie together, before grabbing something to eat, and went to an arcade to call it day.
They left the arcade and they stopped by the roadside to go watch the night star.
Paulina stared at the moon, and Sage looked at her.
“Are you thinking about something?” He asked, and she smiled.
“Staring at the moon always takes my worries away. You should try it, it really works,”
“Something else works for me,” he said, and she looked at him.
“What?” She asked, her curiosity piqued.
“Staring at you like this, being with you, and spending time with you,”
“Sage…”
“I told you I like you, but you said nothing about it. I was serious about my confession,”
“Sage…”
“I don’t care about your relationship with Mike, I don’t care if you had a history together or how far your relationship has gone, I don’t care about your motive for being being him. I don’t care about any of those, Lina,”
“Sage…I…” she shuddered.
“You can only tell me you don’t like me now, reject me, and I won’t pressure you again,” he said, staring intensely at her.
Her heart started beating fast as his eyes locked with hers, she wanted to look away but she felt Kyle she is glue to that position. Just earlier, Mike confessed and she is still doubting the credibility of his words, and now Sage just pour out a heartfelt confession to her. She has never been in such situation before, unlike many other teenagers, she never considered dating, she was a nerd who only enjoy the company of her mother and few friends. Everything was new to her, she doesn’t understand the meaning of love, the words were new to her, she can’t even explain the feelings she had for him.
“Since you’re speechless, that only means you can’t reject me, but you’re confused about your feelings. I’m sincere about mine,” he said, and held her hand, placing it on his chest. “My heart beats this fast just for you, and if your heart beats the same way, then you need to take your time to think about your feelings,” he said, and she started hiccuping.
“Sage…”
“You don’t have to sag anything if you aren’t sure of your feelings. I’ll give you time to think about it, I’ll confess to you five times, and if you can’t still give me a response then, I’ll give up. This is my first confession,” he said, and nodded. At that point, that was the only command her body could respond to.

HOLLAND HIGH^^^
^
Paulina wobbled on her feet along the hallway when she felt a hand on her shoulder, and she saw Steven.
“Are you still thuninh about that heartfelt confession?” He teased, and she eyed him before looking away. “I guess you haven’t found an answer yet,” he teased, and she hit his hand away from her. “Fine, I’m leaving now,” he sneered, and was about to leave but a thought came to her mind and she dragged him back. “What?” He snapped.
“You’re the only one I could think of,” she muttered, batting her lashes cutely.
“Nah… that won’t wole for me,” he teased, and scoffed.
“Then what will?” She muttered.
“Asking nicely,”
“Please….” She shuddered, and he smiled, wrapping his hand around her shoulder.
“I’m all yours,” he muttered, and she smiled.
*
They went to the cafeteria rooftop and she narrated her problems to him, lying that her friend was the one with the problems.
Steven chucked after she concluded the story, and exhaled heavily.
“So, you mean another guy finfessed to you after Mike’s heartfelt confession? And now you are confused,”
“Exactly! The confession caught me off gua…-“. She saw saying, but she instantly realized what she was saying. “No, no, it wasn’t me. It was a friend of mine from my neighborhood,”
“The Stanford’s estate? Is it perhaps, Ava?” He teased.
“Of course not, my former neighborhood! That’s not the point here, Steve, I really need your advice… to be able to advise my friend, of course,”
“Well… whoever it is shouldn’t be the point, the advice is what matters,”
“Yes, exactly!”
“I told you last might not to jump the gun. Mike’s confession might all be unreal like your relationship. You both shared a common goal, and that’s getting rid of Ava, and yesterday’s event was just perfect,” he said, she concurred.
“So… you mean it might all be fake, even the kiss…” she shuddered, and he laughed.
“That’s not even a kiss to me, anyone could do the same, I can even do it now,” he teased, and wanted to kiss her forehead but she pushed him away.
“Get away from me!” She snapped.
“Mike can play all his cards to get what he wants, and that’s exactly what he did! Did he called you after his meeting later?” He asked, and she shook her head. “If his confession was real, he should have called you later to seek an answer, but singe he didn’t, forget about it and focus on your education,” he bantered, and she glared at him.
“What do you even know?” She shouted.
“Nothing! I know nothing. The last time I dated was in kindergarten school, so you should take advice from a more experienced person to assist your friend,”
“What friend?”
“The one who needs the advice, remember it’s not for you,” he teased, and she slightly nodded.
“Thank you, you can go,”
“You shouldn’t get involved with boys like Mike, you might be in same class, but you belong to different status. He is not an ordinary student like his peers. That’s my last advice to your friend,” with that he left.
“He is right, I shouldn’t get ahead of myself,” she grumbled when she felt a presence. “What do you want? I thought you left already!” She snapped, and turned to see it’s Sage.
“I see you are now bringing your other friends to our hangout,” Sage said, and she gasped.
“Our?” The word echoed in her head, snd she gasped again. “When did it became ours? This is the school premises everyone has equal rights here!” She lashed, starling him.
“Hey, don’t be so uptight, I’m merely cracking jokes,”
“You shouldn’t crack jokes like that, anyone could think otherwise,”
“Who would think so?” He inquired, and she instability realized what she has been saying so far.
“What’ve gotten into me?” She thought. “It’s all Steve’s fault,” she almost cried but instantly composed herself. “No one! Bye, I’m late for class,” she said, and carried her bag before running off.
She bumped into Sophia on her way, but she ignored Sophia and kept on running.
“Hey, Lina!” Sophia shouted. “What’s wrong with her?” Sophia thought, and joined Sage who was smiling cheerfully. “Sage, what’s wrong with Lina?” She asked.
“Nothing, she was just being cute,” he muttered all smiles, and Sophia scoffed.
“I made a mistake by coming here, a big one,” she muttered, before leaving.
**
**
Paulina got to class, and the MASS entered almost immediately, she exchanged greetings with her, and Steven winked at her before they all went to seat.
She exhaled heavily, and steal a quick glance at Micheal who acted like she doesn’t exist.
“Even if it was all an act, he shouldn’t have ignored me like that,” she grumbled, and placed her head on her desk, mumbling words to herself.
*
During recess, she carried her bag ready to elope into a comfort zone—although she had none.
She was about to run out of the class, but she felt a hand held her back. She tried to compose herself before she turned around and gasped when she saw it was Micheal.
“What? Why are did you grabbed me?” She snapped, and relapsed herself from his grip.
Austin and Stanley looked at her puzzled by her reaction, while Steven chuckled softly.
“Hey, why are you acting up?” Austin blurted.
“Let’s have lunch together,” Micheal said, and she snubbed him before looking away — he confided her with his confession yesterday, and ignored her afterwards, acting like it was all a part of their agreement. The agreement was to fake relationship, not affection.
“What a two-faced man,” she grumbled, and they all looked at her.
“What did you say?” Austin anded.
“No! I’m going to eat at the cafeteria!” She blurted, and intend to leave but he dragged her back.
“Then let’s eat at the cafeteria,” he muttered, and she looked at him wondering if that was also an act as well.
“An act to show others that we are close,” she thought.
“He should consider acting,” she grumbled, loud enough for him to hear.
“Who ?” Austin asked, and she looked at him, her gaze met Steven’s funny smile, and she looked away in embarrassment.
“I’m hungry,” Steven muttered, and they all looked at him.
“What did he say?” Austin asked, awed.
“You must be famished to complain. Yes, we should go eat,” Stanley wrapping his arm around Steven’s shoulder.
*
They entered the supreme class cafeteria, and the students gasped upon seeing them. They never had lunch at the cafeteria before, they all go there whenever they aim to bully anyone.
The students started mumbling words to themselves wondering who the target might be, but the MASS left them perplexed when they went to seat. They might have never had a meal at the cafeteria, but a table was specially reserved for them.
Paulina looked around in wonderment, that was her first time at the supreme class cafeteria, and unlike the others, things were done differently. There were waiters taking orders, and the seats were even more comfortable
They sat to eat after receiving their orders, and the boys engaged in random conversation about a party.
“Lia hasn’t hosted a party since forever,” Austin said.
“She is busy plotting with Ava, that must’ve been more entertaining to her,” Stanley replied.
“I don’t think Ava is at school today,” Austin said.
“She is obviously embarrassed after what happened yesterday. If I were her, I would return to England at the spot,” Stanley said, and Austin laughed.
“Do you guys always attend Lia’s party?” Paulina couldn’t help but ask.
“Yes, she is the queen of parties. Her parties are always a lit. Always filled with vibes from all over the city. We always receive special invitations to her party, but she didn’t invite us to her last party. I miss the good old days, we used to be cool, even after Ava left,” Austin said, wistfully.
“That’s enough,” Micheal muttered.
“Why is Rae alone?” Austin said, pointing at Rae who was eating alone.
“Do you think she had a misunderstanding with her friends?” Stanley muttered.
“Come to think of it, she wasn’t with them yesterday,” Austin point out.
“What’s your stress?” Micheal blurted.
“I used to have a crush on her back then, but she was dating Roy then,” Austin said, and Stanley chuckled
“I told you to tell her back then,” Stanley said.
“Not after Roy bought that scooter before us. There was no way I could compete with him, he was always a step ahead of us. I think that guy has someone spying on us,” Austin muttered.
“I wonder why they broke up,” Stanley wondered.
“Neither of them would have lasted in that relationship. I heard Roy is now in a secret relationship with a Miss America, he is going to flaunt her in Alex’s beach party next weekend. Alex bought a new beach house, and he is throwing a party there. We should get something unique as well, how does a garden house sounds?” Austin said, and Paulina choked on her food.
“Are you ok? Have some water,” Micheal said, worriedly and she had a slip from the water. She can never understand their conversation, they were always flaunting about money like their aren’t all teenagers. Steven was right, they belonged to different status entirely.
“I rather buy a chopper than a garden house. While on that, what do you guys think about getting a chopper?” Stanley asked, and they all cleared thier throat.
“You’re at it again. I’m sure Roy will get that before us again!” Austin blurted.
“Mike, what’s your take? I vote for a chopper,” Stanley said.
“Garden house I stand!” Austin blurted.
“You shouod all date first, and stop worrying about material possessions “ he muttered, and Paulina chuckled.
“I’ll ensure I get a new girl before this month runs out, and we must celebrate our 100 days together in the MASS garden house,” Austin said.
“And I’ll get one too, and celebrate our 100 days together traveling around in our chopper!” Stanley said.
“Can you even last 100 days?” Austin teased, and Micheal chuckled.
“Leave the girls to Austin, man. We might end up with the garden house,” Micheal mocked.
“What’s your vote?” Stanley asked.
“I’m busier than that. Let the best man win. We should wrap up here, recess is almost over,” Micheal said, and they all nodded.
“I’m really going to find a girl this time, and we will celebrate 100 days, a year, and even more together!” Stanley lashed.
“I vote my new car that’s on the way,” Austin said.
“I vote my new scooter,” Micheal said, and they looked at Steven.
“Will you vote your car as well?” Austin asked, Steven who nodded, and they all looked at Paulina.
“What?” She grumbled, and they shook their head.
“Let’s go, guys,” with that they left the cafeteria.
*
School dismissed later, and Sage offered Paulina a ride. Thankfully, he didn’t talk about his confession and she asked him to drop her at the bus station.
She looked around for the ragged man who was mostly at the station before she boarded the bus. She was fond of always seeing him there, and always felt some sense of relief whenever see saw him.
“I wonder if he left already,” she thought.
*
She got home later and couldn’t stop thinking about the ragged man, she was always curious about him and his sudden appearance sadden her in a way. She dibwr her thoughts away from him when a message beeped into her phone from Micheal.
💬*Do you want to watch the stars with me later?* the message reads, and she blushed softly.
💬*Sure!* she tested back wondering what he wanted to discuss with her.
*
He came to pick her up later, and they enjoyed a peaceful long ride, and he pulled at a feild.
He spread a comfortable sheet on the ground, and they stared at the sky together.
“The moon is out today,” she blushed, and he looked at her.
“Let’s end our agreement, Lina,” he muttered, and she looked at him.
Their gaze met, and neither of them looked away.
“My confession the other day wasn’t bonded by our agreement, so let’s end it. I want to quit deceiving myself, be my girl for real this time,” he stated, and he’d heart started beating fast. She couldn’t think of a response, neither could she look away. It was the same way she felt when Sage confessed, and she became confused at that spot.
“Who does my heart truly beats for?” She thought, still staring at Micheal.
