Paulina had the most hectic dinner then returned to her room and a maid trailed behind her with her uniform. A peek at the uniform already tell that Ms. Grace wasn’t exaggerating about the school, and she started doubting if she actually belongs there.
*
She woke up the following day after dreaming about her regular day back at home with her mother, the dream felt so real that she broke down in tears when she woke up.

She put herself together before going to freshen up and prepared for school.

A maid came to escort her to have breakfast, leading the way to a different dinning room. Paulina wondered why the house was that big and complicated with too many duplicate. If no one was escorting her, she could likely get lost. She got there and met her stepmother who welcomed her with a smile – she seems to be the only one who cared about her existence, although she has foul intentions.

“Good morning, ma’am.” She greeted.

“Morning darling, hope you slept well and enjoyed your first night in a princess world?” She asked, and Paulina chuckled shallowly – she would rather not wake up.

“I did, ma’am.”

“Good. I stayed back to inform you that you would ride with Ava to school. Have a nice time at school.” With that she left.

Ava got downstairs, and Paulina contemplated before joining her.

“Good morning, Ava. Your mother said I would be riding with you to school.”

“You are so audacious.” Ava blurted, and a message beeped into her phone from her mother.

💬*Behave, baby. I’ve an eye on you.* it reads and she scoffed.

“Which of you is spying on me?” She shouted, and the few maids around flinched. “I wish I could just tear you into pieces, but I gotta give you a ride anyways.” She blurted, and left while Paulina trailed behind her.
*
The car was already close to Holland High when Ava ordered the driver to stop.

“Something stinks.” She said.

“I’m going to spare the freshener again, madam.” The driver said.

“I don’t think it’s from the air.” She blurted, and alighted from the car.

She opened the door to the passenger’s seat that Paulina was seated, and asked her to come down.

Paulina looked at her wondering if they were going to walk to school before she obliged.

“I believe the smell is coming from there.” Ava said, and pushed her to the ground. “The school is few blocks from here, see ya.” With that she returned to the car and the driver drove off.

Paulina helped herself up, and started dusting her uniform, but the stain didn’t come off because the ground was still wet from rain.

“How am I supposed to go to school with this stain? And I can’t even walk back home.” She cried.

HOLLAND HIGH SCHOOL ***
*
After the hectic moment, the MASS walked past Ava, and Ava kicked Paulina before leaving.

“You should avoid getting into trouble.” Was all the teacher said before leaving, and Paulina started wondering what kind of school that was.
*
She found her way to the bathroom and tried to wash off the stains from her uniform but it didn’t come off. The clothes Ava threw at her were already torn and she started sobbing thinking of how to carry on that day.

“Hey, you can change into this and avoid Ava and the MASS for the rest of the school year.” A girl said, and gave Paulina a uniform.

“What is mass?” Paulina managed to ask.

“What? You don’t know MASS? They are a group of friends, Micheal Russ, Austin Wilson, Stanley Hewlett, and Steven Hearst. How come you don’t know them?” The girl gasped.

“I’m a new student.”

“Even still.… everyone in California knows them. They are the sons of elites billionaires, the heir to trillions of wealth. They rule this school.”

“Why must I avoid them?” She muttered, and the girl gasped trying to hid in laughters.

“I’ll tell you all you have to know about them later, not just them but Holland high. It’s not just a school to study, we are in a heist to survive. We can’t meet in the open because I don’t know why Ava bullied you earlier, so let’s meet at the cafeteria rooftop during recess. Don’t say hi if we meet outside, for my sake at least. Because I’ve to be saved to be able to save you.” The girl rushed her words and hurried out, but stopped when she got to the exit. “I’m Sophia by the way, Sophie. But that doesn’t make us friends.” With that she hurried out.

Paulina let out a sigh wondering how she is going to survive a day at school.
*
She changed into the uniform that Sophia gave her; although it didn’t fit properly, but it’s better than a stained uniform.

She found her way to the principal’s office, and was given all the necessities, before he introduced her to a teacher that escorted her to her class – supreme class.

The teacher lead her to the elevator and they stopped in a floor that looks different from the others, there was a lock in a slide door, and the teacher had to use her ID card to scan it open, and also taught her how to scan with her ID as well.

The teacher went in to announce her presence before summoning her in, and she entered the modest classroom, the classroom can’t be referred to as a classroom in her world – there were comfortable seats. She couldn’t take her time to look around when she realized that she was supposed to introduce herself.

“What? She is in our class?” A girl shouted.

“I thought she was a peasant.” A boy blurted.

“Class, please, let’s allow her introduce herself.” The teacher said, and gestured her to go ahead.

“Good morning, class. I’m Paulina Andrew.”

“Andrew?” A boy repeated.

“Search that name up.” A girl said, and all the students started pressing their computers.

“Hun hun, Ms. Andrew, please go take your seat.” The teacher said.

“Hey, who the f¥ck are those Andrew’s’.? I can’t find anything on them.” A boy shouted, and others started supporting him.

“Who are you and how did you get privileged to this class?” A boy asked, and blocked her path.

“Everyone, she is a new student so help her feel welcome.” With that the teacher left.

“Guys, why don’t we get to know her first. No peasant can access this floor, not to mention our class.” A girl said, and everyone nodded.

“I don’t know who you are, but I hope you aren’t just lucky and actually belong here.” The boy blocking her path said, and returned to his seat.

Paulina wobbled on her feet to the vacant seat, and everyone started chattering, but the chatters subside when the MASS entered the class.

“Oh, she is in our class?” Austin said, and they all looked at her expect Micheal who continued on his way to his seat.

“What gibberish school is this?” Paulina thought and placed her head on her desk.
*
The classes went on, and Paulina wondered how they receive lectures in the school – the teachers just come to class and reference them to a text book or a link online. Each teacher did the same till its recess and she stood up to leave in a hurry, but she bumped into the one everyone respects – Micheal Russ.

“Are you blind?” Austin shotted.

“I’m… I’m sorry.” She shuddered.

“Do you think your apology worths anything?” Stanley shouted.

Micheal glared at her and hit his shoulder against hers to continue on his way.

“That girl got guts.” Austin said.

“She was the one in the scandal with Ava this morning.” Stanley said.

“We know.” Austin blurted.

“Michael, why are you awfully quiet today?” Stanley asked.

“Are you blind? Can’t you see that Ava is back? Considering the history between them, how do you expect him to be?” Austin lashed.
*
Paulina went to the rooftop, and met Sophia there waiting for her.

“Sophie.” She called, and Sophia fell on her knees immediately. “Sophie, are you ok?” She asked worriedly and hurried to her.

“I’ve sinned against you, please I plead for mercy. Forgive me.” Sophia cried.

“What did you mean? It’s me, Paulina. You gave me your uniform.”

“Who am I to give you my tattered uniform? I should have removed this neat one for you instead, no, I should have ordered a new one for you. Oh, my. I’m sorry, now can I make up for this?” She cried, confusing Paulina.
*
Paulina managed to make her stop crying, and they both sat down before she explained to Paulina the reasons behind the sudden outburst, it was because she realized that she belonged to the supreme class.

“Are there different kind of classes again?” She asked already exhausted, and Sophia gasped.

“How come you don’t know and you are in the class? Who are your family? What’s your name? Are you new in this planet?”

“Too many questions. Which should I answer first? But I rather answer none. You wanted to tell me something about some boys, and request we meet here.”

“Yes, your royal majesty. I was going to tell you about the MASS. Am I permitted to speak freely?” Sophia asked bowing her head.

“Quit this, Sophie. You are making me uncomfortable.”

“Oh no, oh no. I can’t dare such.” Sophia said, and Paulin let out a sigh.

“Sophie.” She called, and Sophia composed herself.

“The MASS… I already introduced them to you earlier, I mean I told you their names. Micheal Russ is the youngest CEO in California, he became the managing director of Yikes Enterprise at age 12, and he is currently the director of this school. Unlike other teenagers, Michael have been running his father business since childhood, rumors have it that he attended his first board meeting at age 5, and served as an intern in their company in New York when he was 10. Well… what do we expect, he is the only son of billionaire, Leonard Russ. I heard that he will be inaugurated as the chairman after high school.” She said, and Paulina’s eyes widened in bewilderment.

“Wow.” Was the only word that escaped her mouth.

“And Austin Wilson is the only son of Grayson Wilson, he has three elder sisters and they are all married to elites. His eldest sister is married to a prince from England, his immediate sister is married to a prime minister in Thailand, and his last sister is married to the only son of Dowan’s Groups – they are a prestigious family of lawyers, the chairman is a retired judge, his wife is a retired prosecutor, and their only son is a famous lawyer and also the director of Dowan’slaw firm. They also own a law school and the chairman was also the former mister of Justice. Austin is also a rare gem in his own realm, he is the master behind the school basketball, he has won different trophies for the school, and he has also represented the country in basketball tournaments, he is the only heir to Will’s Group. A large group comprises of many flourishing companies.” She said, and Paulina looked at her astonished.

“Wow.” She muttered again.

“As for Stanley Hewlett, he is a born genius. The brain of mathematics, and cybersecurity. He never failed any maths competition, and he can hack into any connected device. He is a genius, and also the third son of King’s Group. His family own the best hotel in California, King’s lounge, and also an airport and many shopping malls.” She said, and Paulina nodded.

“What about the last?” She asked.

“Oh, Steven Hearst? I know nothing much about him. He is the most discreet among the MASS and nobody dares to pry. He barely talk, and I doubt if he is good at anything. Rumors have it that he is from an infamous mafia family. Trust me, you don’t know want to get on his bad side.” She said, and Paulina nodded.

“How come you knew all these?” Paulina asked.

“That’s not a question. Oh, mind my speech, pardon me but everyone knows. If you are a student of this school, you must know all that. It’s mandatory if you want to survive. Who am I to talk, you are also one of them. But why was Ava bullying you earlier?”

“Ava?” Paulina repeated confused on what to say.

“Yes. Don’t you know Ava Stanford, the only daughter of billionaire Paul Stanford. The chairman of First Group. Her mother is currently campaigning for mayor, her grandfather was a former prime minister. Ava is very scary, back then in middle school we usual add her group to the MASS to form MASSALAR.”

“MASSALAR?”

“ALAR stands for Ava, Lia, Alicia, and Rae. They were the queen bees during first year. They are very close to the MASS so we joined them together. Ava was dating Michael then, but rumors have it that she broke up with Micheal and flee abroad. Now that she is back, it’s gonna get more hectic. Everyone has to be on their toes.”

“Oh… so she is that scary.”

“More than scary. No scholarship student ever survived a semester when we were in middle school. They either transfer or drop out. Many even tried to commit suicide. I heard she was also infamous at her school I. England as well, I wondered why she returned.”

“And you? Why are you so scared of them?”

“Gosh, everyone is. Even those in the supreme class are, not to talk of me in the regular class.”

“I wonder why there are different class?” Paulina grumbled.

“That’s because everyone has different class outside, so the school also try to maintain same status. We have the regular class, middle class, and supreme class.”

“Middle class?”

“Middle class are for those that can’t make it to the supreme class, there are mostly children of investors, and high share holders in the school. They are be billionaires that surpassed the regular class, but they aren’t fit for the supreme class, so there is a different class for them. And the regular class are for those that could afford the tuition, but the school cared less about our existence. Our status is the necessary to earn us admission. There are differences in our ID card, the middle class and supreme class has an OR code in their ID card that can give them access to all floors, but the middle class can’t access the supreme class floor. Let me see your ID card.” She said, and collected Paulina’s ID card. “Oh, I’ve always wanted to touch this.”

“Let me see yours.” Paulina said, and she gave her the card. The only difference was the OR code she mentioned, then she realized why the teacher was teaching her how to use it.

“This is sooooo beautiful. I wlways wish to touch one before I graduate. This is a fulfillment.” She said kissing it, and Paulina let out a sigh.

“So there are three different class in this school.” Paulina muttered, and Sophia looked at her.

“Yes, babe. Welcome to Holland High where every student maintains their class, and those who try to cross the line learn the hard way. Oh, I forgot to mention the bottom class.”

“Bottom class?”

“Only one student belong to that class in a session. That means, we only have a bottom student among us so there is no separate class for them, but they know their place. They are scholarship students. Since the school couldn’t design a separate class for them, their uniform is different, they have a different type of collar and even their custom, for us to recognize them.”

“Oh… so you belong to the regular class.”

“Yes. My family own a shopping mall, and few department stores, so how could I compete for a class? I always thought my family were welloff while growing up, but when I get admitted into holland, I realized that I still have a long way to go. And you, who are you? You are able to make it to the supreme class, and got bullied on your first day.” Sophia asked, and Paulina looked at her at loss.

“Who am I?” She thought.

Chairman Stanford got to his office, and his head secretary Mr. John went to him.

“Sir, I’ve news for you. Ms. Charlotte is d£af, she was involved in an accident.”

“I know.” The chairman muttered, and his secretary looked at him. “Grace told me, and she brought my daughter home as well. What are you doing John? How come Grace found them before you?” He shouted.

“I’m sorry, sir.”

“Sorry can’t take responsibility for this, I’ve to protect my daughter from Grace, but now it’s too late. I’ll have to dance to her tone.” He grumbled with clenched fist.

He excused his secretary later, and took a picture from his cabinet.

“Even till the end, Charolette, I failed to protect you, and our daughter.” He muttered, sniffing silently.
