Three children were climbing up the mountain, their families went hiking together and the children were no expectations. 12-year old Paul Stanford, 11-year old Grace Packard, and 12-year Louis Crocker. The Stanfords’, Packards’ and Crockers’ are all friends united by the interest they got from each other. The Stanford’s are the owner of First Group, one of the top 3 groups in California, and top 10 group in America. The Packards’ are a politician’s family, they have high positions in politics and a lot of connections around the world, while the Crockers’ are medical professionals; the family own a lot of hospitals and their children are all trained to be medical experts. The three families bond have grown for decades, which unite their children as friends. They hang out together often to have fun, and chatter the stress away.
*
The children were struggling to climb up, and Paul was fast ahead of them.

“Hey, Paul, why are you so fast?” Louis shouted, already exhausted.

“You should try to be fast yourself rather than complaining.” Grace teased.

“Hey guys, I’m here.” They heard a familiar voice shouting, and they turned to see their friend – 10_year old Charlotte Flood.

The Floods’ are high influenced family and the owner of FD Group. Charlottes grandfather is infamous as a notorious businessman, and his son also follows same steps. Her parents are barely home, and she attends same school as the other three children which made them close, and they hang out together often.
*
“Hey, Charlotte. Wait there, I’ll get you.” Paul said, and started climbing down.

“What? You are climbing back? She could just follow behind.” Grace complained.

“Paul, I’m closer, I’ll get her instead.” Louis said, and started climbing down too.

“What? Even you?” Grace shouted.

“Who is going to get Charolette first?” Paul shouted, and they started rushing.

“Be careful guys, I could actually climb up myself.” Charlotte said.

“Heyyyyyy… I just heard a strange sound.” Grace screamed scaring the others.

Paul missed his step, and started rolling down from the mountain.

“Nooooo…. Paul.” They all shouted.

HOLLAND HIGH SCHOOL ***
*
Ava went to the cafeteria, and three girls went to join her.

“What?” She muttered looking up at them – they are her friends – Lia, Alicia, and Rae.

“Don’t you owe us an explanation?” Lia said, and the others nodded.

“I doubt.” She muttered, and continued her meal, but Rae dragged it away from her. “What?” She shouted, and stood up angrily and the students started to gather.

“You suddenly appeared without informing us, you sneaked in on us and we had to find out about your presence from the scandal, do you think that’s fair? Is that how little our friendship worth to you?” Lia fired back.

“She even ignored us in class.” Rae blurted.

“What are you girls saying? I know you’d accept me no matter how bad my entrance was.” Ava said, and they all giggled before embracing her.

“We’ve really missed you, Ava.” Alicia whined.

“You girls are the only people I missed here.” She muttered, and they all joined her table.

“Babe, who was that girl from the scandal, I heard she belongs to the supreme class.” Lia said.

“My worst enemy.” Ava muttered with clenched fist.

“Is she your family’s rivalry daughter?” Rae asked, and she scoffed.

“That would have been better, but she is more of my rival. She could take everything from me if I aren’t careful.”

“What do you mean?” Alicia asked.

“Should we get rid of her?” Lia asked.

“We’ve to.” Ava muttered, and they all smiled.

“I’ve missed you, babe. I’m incomplete without you.” Lia said, and embraced Ava while the others giggled.

“You are screwed, Paulina.” Ava thought smiling wickedly.

Paulina was able to escape Sophia question thanks to the bell that giggled to signal the end of recess.

They both left the rooftop and Sophia headed to her own class while Paulina took a turn leading to her own class wondering who she really was in that school.

She was lost in thoughts when three girls approached her to bring her out of her thoughts.

“Hi, I’m Lia, you must be the new student in the supreme class?” Lia said, and she nodded.

“Yeah, I’m Paulina.”

“What a name.” Alicia said, and they all giggled confusing Paulina.

“Such a nice ID card you got.” Rae said.

“Can I take a look?” Lia asked, and pulled it forcefully.

“Arggh..”. Paulina groaned.

“Sorry, Paulina Andrew. But I’ve to check this out, and I’m late for class.” With that Rae left.

“Wait. My ID.” She shouted, and intend to go after her but the other two blocked her path.

“Poor you, she already left with it. But don’t worry, I’ll ensure she returns it.” Alicia mocked.

“Gosh, how can you attend classes now? And it’s your first day.” Rae whined.

“Maybe there is a class you can attend without the ID access. That’s where you actually belong.” Alicia blurted, and with that they left.

“Oh my, what’s this? What do I do now?” She thought.

Their system atthe school was so new to her, that she started doubting if it’s actually a school.

“How do they even know me?” She thought and instantly recalled the name, and all the names that Sophia mentioned. “Lia? Then she must be Ava’s friend. What do I do now?” She grumbled.
*
She went to the principal to complain about her predicament and the principal let out a heavy sigh before advising her to skip the day class till they retrieve her ID card for her.

She left there in disappointment wondering how a principal can’t control students in a school.

“This is indeed more than a school.” She thought.

She was so lost in her thoughts that she almost bumped into someone, and she looked up to see he is one of the MASS. She didn’t know who he was specifically, but he isn’t the leader, rather one of the disciples.

“I’m sorry.” She grumbled, but he ignored her and continued on his way.

She let out a sigh and intend to keep walking when she saw a pendant on the floor.

“Oh, this must have fell from him.” She muttered and picked it up; turning around to look for him, but he was already gone. “This looks expensive, I will return it to him later.” She thought, and kept it in her bag.

The LAR joined Ava in class, and she looked up at them wondering why they are grinning widely.

“What’s new?” She asked.

“Guess what, babe?” Lia asked.

“Guessing is boring.” She blurted.

““We already put that girl in her place.” Alicia said, and the others giggled.

“You mean Paulina? What did you do to her?” She asked, her curiosity piqued.

“We told you we are going to put her where she belongs, and that’s actually what we did.” Rae said.

“I don’t still get.”

“TADA!” They all chorused, and Lia showed her the ID card.

“What’s this?” She asked.

“Paulina’s ID card.” Alicia replied.

“Obviously. Why is it with you?” She asked, already irritated.

“This will put her in her place.” Lia said.

“How is stealing her ID card supposed to put her in her place?” She blurted, and Lia showed her the OR code.

“She won’t have access to this class again.” Rae said, and Ava smirked in disgust.

“You will be summoned to return that back, so how does that make sense? She could even get another one. Aren’t you thinking?” She blurted, and the girls jaw dropped in awareness.

“Miss Lane, you are summoned to the principal’s office.” A teacher announced, and everyone looked at Lia.

“You see?” Ava lashed, and the girls sighed in annoyance before leaving.

Ava let out a sigh in annoyance thinking of the right way to get Paulina out of her life when someone approached her table, she looked up to see its Austin.

“Hi, Ava.”

“What?” She blurted.

“I see you returned in a really bad mood. I thought we were friends, we actually go way back from kindergarten.”

“Stop blabbering. What do you want?”

“I invited you for a meal earlier, but you turned it down. So I’m back to invite you again properly. I guess it was the wrong timing then.”

“I’ll pass.”

“You should make up with Mike since you are back. Let’s start a new from a meal. You were our friend too.”

“Well… too bad, I never considered you guys as friends. So will you leave? I need some air.”

“That’s harsh. But incase you change your mind, I haven’t changed my contact.” He said and winked at her before leaving.

“So annoying.” She grumbled. “Why is everyone annoying today?” She shouted, and the few students around looked at her. “What?” She lashed, and they looked away immediately.
**
**
Paulina wandered around in the school, admiring its beauty. She walked around thinking about how difficult her life would become in that school and ended up finding her way to the cafeteria rooftop before she gets lost.

She got to the rooftop and saw a student standing very close to the tip like he is about to jump off. She remembered what Sophia told her about attempted suicide, and her eyes wide in shock.

“Nooooooo…. Don’t….” She screamed at the top of her voice and went to drag him forcefully- together they both fell back together. She looked up at whom she saved, and was startled to realize he is one of the MASS – the one she bumped into earlier. “What have I done?” She thought in fear and got up immediately.

He glared at her speechless when he stood up and dust his body before leaving. That was when she realized that he must be Steven, the quiet one. EarPods were plugged to his ears that she doubted if he heard her scream earlier.

When he was out of sight, she remembered the pendant he dropped earlier and ran after him.

“Hey, wait. Mass, Steven.” She called but he didn’t turn around- perhaps he didn’t hear her.

She ran faster until she caught up with him, and dragged him, but she fell in the process and he didn’t even make any attempt to hold her.

He glared at her like asking her what she wants, and she put herself together before standing up.

“I’m sorry, but you dropped something earlier.” She said, and touched her shirt pocket where she kept the pendant but found nothing. “Oh… it was just here. What you dropped. It must have fell off in the rooftop.” She grumbled, and he continued on his way. “That means he could hear me but pretended not to.” She thought. “Hey, I’ll go get it, I must have left it at the rooftop, just wait.” She shouted, but he ignored her. “I should find it first and rerun it some time.” She thought.

She hurried back to the rooftop and started searching for the pendant till she found it.

“Finally.” She thought. “Who knows, maybe it’s not as important as I thought.” She grumbled before keeping it in her pocket and another thought crossed her mind. “It might not even be for him, it’s a feminine style.” She exclaimed

She was about to leave the rooftop when she heard a broadcast requesting her presence in the principal’s office so she went there immediately hoping it’s to get back her ID card.

On her way to the principal’s office, Ava blocked her path accompanied by the cheesy girls from earlier, and she flinched.

“Here is your ID, be more careful in the future.” Ava said, and gave her the ID card.

“Thank you.” She grumbled and collected it in fear.

“Girls, got something to say?” Ava blurted.

“We’re sorry.” They chorused, and Paulina doubt the sincerity behind their apology.

“Their apology might not sound sincere, but they mean it. Seizing your ID card is a very lousy game. I really wish I could get rid of you, but since it might jeopardize my mum election, we should get along till it’s over.” Ava said, and Paulina looked at her doubting her words.

“Yeah. Since you are cool with Ava, we should get along as well.” Lia said. “What do you think girls?” She asked.

“Yeah, yeah.” They chorused sarcastically.

“Thank you, I’ll be on my way now.” She said, and intend to leave but Lia dragged her back.

“‘Not too fast, honey.” Lia said, and Paulina flinched in fear.

“What…” She shuddered.

“There is gonna be a party at my place tomorrow night to celebrate Ava’s return. You should be there, no, you must be there to prove that we are cool.” Lia said, and Paulina looked at her.

“I don’t like parties, but we are cool. So I’ll pass.”

“You don’t have to like parties, you just have to be there.” Ava said a little intimidating, and she started wondering what they plan to do to her at that party.
*
When school dismissed, Paulina was walking down the hallway, and a hand dragged her – it was Sophia, and they both went to the cafeteria rooftop together.

“What? Lia’s party?” Sophia shouted.

“I really have a bad feeling about it.”

“What nonsense? It’s a privilege to get to attend her party. What am I saying? Everyone in the supreme class are privileged to attend.”

“There is class in parties as well?”

“Of course. I always wanted to attend, but here you are with the free access. You are in the supreme class, and you are personally invited by Lia. You should go, you should be there.”

“But I really have a bad feeling about that party.” She grumbled.

“You have to get your hair done before then. Oh… it’s tomorrow night, you don’t have enough time to prepare.” Sophia said, and Paulina looked at her. She expected nothing much from her to begin with.

“What will happens if I don’t attend the party?”

“Nothing, precisely. But since you were personally invited by Lia, you could get on her bad side and trust me that will do you no good.” Sophia said, and Paulina became silent, wondering how she would escape the party.
