Michael went late to school the following day, she went straight to his suite and met his friends there playing a game.

“Austin is out, go for it Mike.” Stanley said, and threw the remote at Michael who took over the game.

They played for few hours before taking a break to relax.

“Man, why are you late? We missed today’s class because of you.” Dustin said.

“Is your father is checking your class attendance?” Stanley asked, and Austin shook his head.

“He has been busy with work lately, but we could never tell. He could just request for my attendance at anytime.” Austin muttered, his attention focused on his phone.

“It’s recess already, we should attend the class after recess.” Stanley said, and they both looked at Micheal.

“Cool. Have you ordered in?” Micheal muttered, and Stanley stared at him strangely. “What?” He blurted.

“Are you ok? You look a little down today.” Stanley said.

“Was it because Stan beat you in the game. Come on, man, you shouldn’t whine over that. Stan is just good at it, he is good at everything expect sports.” Austin said, and Stanley glared at him.

“Is that supposed to be a compliment?” He blurted.

“Slump it however it fits.” Austin said, sticking out his tongue.

They heard the doorbell, and they all looked at Steven.

“Our order is here.” Stanley daid, and Steven went to get the order.

“Did you guys saw this?” Austin asked, looking at his phone.

“What?” Stanley blurted, and Micheal collected Austin’s phone.

“The school papers wrote a new story, and it trending on the student’s platform, everyone is talking about it.” Austin said.

“The school paper. Does that club still exist?” Stanley blurted.

“Of course. They haven’t written anything interesting, so no one was interested in them but this time I think they are aiming at Miss scholar, the headline says it all. It’s about her biography.” Austin said.

“Anything interesting?” Stanley asked.

“Turns out she might likely be an illegitimate. Her mugger is the mistress of a peasant, I wonder how someone could have so many flaws. Mike, we should stop handing out with her. I don’t care about your revenge or whatever, we had enough of that girl.” Austin said, and they all looked at Micheal who was already at the exit. “Where is he heading? He isn’t going to her, is he?” He muttered.

“I believed you answer that already, let’s go.” Stanley said, and they all ran after Micheal.

Micheal grabbed Paulina’s hand, dragging her out of the crowd while his friends tailed after him.

Paulina released from his grip when they got to a silent place, and he looked at her.

“Are you ok? Did they hurt you in anyways?” He asked, worriedly.

“Get off it, man! They just threw newspapers at her, even an ant won’t die from it.” Austin blurted.

“Thank you, Mike… I was really helpless back there.” She muttered.

“It’s fine, that’s why I told you to always be around me so I can protect you.” He said, and they all looked at him.

“The article, was it true? We all know that article was directed at you.” Stanley said, and she looked at him.

“Who cares about that? Ava is just looking for a way to bring her down, we shouldn’t fall for her tricks.” Micheal said.

“But I kinda believe it. See, Miss scholar isn’t even denying it.” Austin blurted.

“That’s enough, her biography got nothing to do with us.” Micheal lashed.

“Take it easy, man. We aren’t trying to bully her here. We are just concerned about the reputation of the student we are associating with. Remember, you aren’t the only one with a reputation.” Stanley said, and Austin nodded.

“Stan is right, man. We can’t just be wandering around with someone with so many flaws.” Austin added.

“At least not now. Paulina has been through too much today.” Micheal said.

“Thank you all for today, I’ll be on my way now.” Paulina muttered, and turned to leave but Mike held her back.

“Where are you going?” He asked.

“I want to be alone, Mike.” She muttered.

“Just let her be.” Stanley said, and Micheal released his grip on her.

“Thank you, bye.” With that she left, and Michael kept staring at her retreating back.

“Let’s go, man.” Stanley said, and Michael nodded.

Lia was summoned by the principal regarding the article, and her friends sat in their suite helplessly, hoping she doesn’t get penalized, expect Ava who was thinking of another way to get rid of Paulina.

“I hope she doesn’t get suspended.” Alicia said.

“Gosh, it’s fun when at it, but getting a bad record is still bad. We aren’t even able to achieve anything. What a waste.” Rae whined.

“Do you think they are really dating? Like, Mike and that lowly parasite?” Alicia said, and Rae let out a sigh.

“Why else would he say that if they aren’t. I sense the chemistry between them after they locked up together. He went on about how special was, and she even embraced him, calling me a pet name. Micky. or whatsoever.” Rae blurted, rolling her eyes.

“It would be really difficult to get rid of her now that she is dating Mike.” Alicia said.

“Get rid of what? We mustn’t even dare! This is game over. She is Mike’s girlfriend now, we can’t standup against Mike.” Rae said, and Alicia nodded.

“Big there seems to be something fishy about their relationship. Just few weeks ago, she was all over the place with Sage, and now she is suddenly Mike’s girlfriend.” Alicia said, and Ava looked at her while Rae hissed in disbelief.

“Hey, don’t tell me you are still into that guy?” Rae blurted.

“You don’t get the point.” Alicia said.

“Who cares about the point as long as that loser is involved.” Rae said.

“Enough, you two. Your ranting won’t even allow me think straight!” Ava yelled.

“Whatever it is you are thinking should be a way to get Lia out incase she gets into trouble, and give up from there. We can’t win against that girl, she is Mike’s girlfriend.” Rae said.

“I think it all started after the volunteer programe, the both of them claimed to miss the fight because they were together. I can’t believe we locked her up for them to become close, and even plotted a stage for them to date.” Alicia said, and let out a sigh.

“You are right. He must’ve saved her from the thugs you guys planted, and became her hero from there.” Rae said.

“But she claimed that she was locked up.” Alicia said.

“Can’t you two be quiet?” Ava yelled, and Rae exhaled heavily

The door slugs open later, and Lia joined them.

“Babe, what happened? How did it go?” Alicia asked, worriedly.

“Are you getting suspended?” Rae asked.

“Nah… thankfully we didn’t name anyone in the article, but the principal wasn’t going to let me go easily.” Lia muttered, and laid flat on the couch.

“That low life woman thinks she can shine because she is the principal.” Rae muttered, in annoyance.

“What now, girl?” Lia asked, sitting up.

“Thankfully, you aren’t getting penalized, so it’s over now.” Rae said.

“What do you mean by it’s over?” Lia asked.

“We can’t possibly get rid of that girl now that Mike got her back. She is his girlfriend, and we know how cr@zy Mike gets when he is dating someone. He barely date for a reason.” Rae said, and Lia nodded Im agreement.

“You are right, girl. We really have to stop now.” Lia said.

“Since when is Rae calling the shots?” Ava blurted, and they all looked at her.

“What do you mean by that? There is clearly nothing we can do.” Rae said.

“It’s not over, until I say it is.” Ava muttered.

“So what’s the plan ?” Lia asked.

“Why do you desperately want to get rid of her? Is there more to your intentions?” Rae blurted, and they all looked at her.

“What nonsense are you spouting?” Ava lashed, glaring at her.

“I believe there is something more to your reasons, Ava. Getting rid of her because she is leaching off your family shouldn’t be this lengthy now that Mike is involved.” Rae pointed out, and the others nodded.

“Why should I be scared of Mike?” Ava blurted.

“Regardless who you are, Ava, Mike pull the shot here, because this is his domain. This is his school, he is the director!” Rae shouted.

“So? I’m not scared of him. If I’ve to get rid of him first, then so be it. Do you know why, Rae? Because I pull the shot wherever am at.” She blurted, and Lia flinched.

“That’s enough, girls. We are with you, Ava. When you come up with another strategy go get rid of her, you can always count on us.” Lia said.

“Do you have no fear, Lia? Do you really think you can get rid of, Mike?“ Rae blurted.

“Rae…” Alicia called.

“What are you even thinking? Mike was our friend, we were all cool even after Ava broke up with him and went to England, and now all of a sudden we want to get rid of him in his own school?” Rae shouted.

“Get out, Rae. You are out!” Ava blurted.

“Ava…”. Lia called.

“Rae, that’s enough.” Alicia cautioned.

“No, I’m not saying anything wrong, I’m going to leave, and you two can stay if you think you can get rid of Mike.” With that, Rae left.

“Ava, it hasn’t gotten to this.” Alicia said.

“Shut up, or you follow.” Ava blurted.

“Rae simply said her mind, and there is nothing wrong in it. We have all been supportive since you returned, even though you acted so superior, we still try to understand you because you are our friend. But you are going to be like this, I don’t think we can still fall this friendship.” With that, Lia left as well.

“Lia…”. Alicia called out, and looked at Ava before she leave too.

“Heyyyy, I hat you, Paulina!” Ava shouted, and threw all the pillows on the couch away.

Paulina went to the cafeteria rooftop, and met Sage and Sophia there.

“Babe, was that real? You and Mike are a couple?” Sophia asked with mixed emotions of surprise and disappointment.

“Sophie, can you excuse us for a moment?” Sage muttered, and Paulina shook her head hoping Sophia won’t leave — she wasn’t in the mood to be alone with Sage.

“Sure, I’ve to go to class anyways. You still owe me an explanation, girl.” With that Sophia left, and Paulina stared at her retreating back hoping she could follow.

“It’s not true, is it?” Sage muttered.

She wanted to tell him the truth, but knowing him, he would be against the plan, so lying to him was the only option she had.

“I’m sorry, Sage.” She muttered, with head bowed.

“Don’t be sorry! Why would you do what you will be sorry for? Are you truly Mike’s girlfriend?” He asked, but she couldn’t utter a word, she was suppressed by guilt, and it hurts so much.

He raised her chin, and made her stare at him directly. Tears formed in her eyes, and she couldn’t control it from rolling down.

“Why are you crying? Did he threaten you to be with him?” He asked, already worried.

“No, it’s nothing like that, Sage. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you.” She muttered, and he chuckled sarcastically.

“Is that why you are crying?” He asked, and chuckled sadly.

“I’m sorry, Sage. I wanted to tell you about my relationship with Mike, but I couldn’t find the right time.”

“Why do I find it difficult to believe?”

“It’s the truth, Sage. Mike is my boyfriend.” She said, and he shook his head.

“You aren’t seeming sure to me. When and how did it start? Or are you just pulling that string to avoid being bullied? You can tell me the truth, Lina. I know you aren’t in a relationship with him, you can’t be. It just doesn’t make sense.”

“What do you know, Sage? You know nothing about me. Either the story in that article was true about me or not, you know nothing so you shouldn’t be this sure.” She said, and his jaw dropped in pain.

“Yes, I know nothing about you, you are the most discreet friend I ever had. Although I was curious, but I never try to pry. Even if the article is true about you or not, I don’t care. What I care about is who you truly are. Are you really capable of getting in a relationship with that scumb@g so he could protect you from bullies? Are you different from the other girls, or do I’ve the wrong impression about you? That’s what I want to know, Lina. don’t care about your biography.” He said, and she broke down in tears.

“I can’t do this anymore.” She cried, and he embraced her.
