The afternoon sun was merciless, shining down on the road as Liora walked away from Avillah College the place that once held her dreams or gave her hope.
Her footsteps were slow but steady.
Each one carried the weight of betrayal, humiliation, and shattered hope.
The same students who had whispered about her now moved aside as she passed, their eyes filled with guilt or silent awe.
But Liora didn’t care anymore.
She kept her gaze forward, her chin lifted, and her heart whispering the only truth she had left:
I will rise again.
By the time she reached the outskirts, her feet ached and her throat burned.
The smell of spices and roasted corn filled the air, signaling she was close to the market.
She spotted her mother’s stall,a small wooden table stacked with fabrics and jewelry.
Maria Amari was busy bargaining with a customer, her laughter light and warm as always.
Liora stopped for a moment, watching her mother.
That smile the same one that had carried their family through every hardship suddenly felt like a knife twisting in her heart.
How could she tell her that everything they’d worked for… was gone?
Maria turned, spotting her daughter standing nearby.
“Ah, there you are! I thought you changed your mind again,” she said, brushing off her apron. “Come, help me sort these scarves before—”
Her voice faltered when she saw Liora’s expression.
“Liora?” she asked softly, eyes narrowing. “What happened?”
Liora forced a small smile. “I… just had a rough day, Mama.”
Maria frowned, stepping closer. “A rough day doesn’t steal the light from your eyes, my child tell me whats wrong.”
Liora hesitated, then handed her the crumpled letter.
Maria unfolded it slowly.
As her eyes moved down the page, her lips parted in disbelief.
“No…” she whispered. “They… they took it away?”
Liora nodded, her voice low and steady. “They said I broke school rules, but it’s a lie someone framed me.”
Maria’s hands shook as she held the letter to her chest. “After everything you’ve worked for? After everything we’ve sacrificed?”
Liora swallowed hard, fighting the lump in her throat. “It’s fine, Mama I’ll figure it out you know I always do.”
Maria cupped her daughter’s face gently. “You shouldn’t have to always figure it out alone, Liora you’ve carried too much for your age.”
Liora smiled faintly, though her eyes glistened. “Maybe it’s my destiny.”
Maria’s brows furrowed. “Destiny doesn’t come to break us, my child It comes to build us.”
For a moment, they stood there mother and daughter in the middle of the bustling market staring at each other.
Liora go back home you need to rest I will handle today’s market alone and tell Julian to fix the broken pipe when he gets back from school,Maria instructed.
Okay mum,Liora answered and left the stall.
[ERYNODOR KINGDOM]
In the Kingdom of Eryndor, a land filled with ancient magic, endless wealth, and unbroken traditions, destiny was often written in crowns and bloodlines.
From the gleaming palaces of marble to the golden plains that stretched beyond the horizon, Eryndor was a realm where loyalty was power, and betrayal could rewrite history.
At the heart of this mighty empire stood King Ryker Valerio, a ruler known for his wisdom and unyielding strength.
Under his reign, Eryndor flourished in power and respect across neighboring lands.
But even in a kingdom so radiant, shadows always found a place to hide.
The King had two queens, and many children.
The first wife Queen sabrina bore the King three children:
Prince Lucien, the first male child and crown prince, a man of intellect and diplomacy and the heir to the throne.
Princess Alicia the second female child
and Princess Mirabel the one with the sharped tongue but at the same time Damian favourite half sibling.
The second queen, Queen Helena was different, younger, bold, and unafraid of anyone except the king.
Her beauty was top notch and she is the king favourite but the King doesn’t show it to avoid dispute.
She bore the King four children as well:
Princess Lousia, her firstborn and the first female child, she is very ambitious and she is incharge of the royal company affair.
Prince Damian Valerio, her second child, and the King’s second son wild, brilliant, and dangerously charming.
Princess Amaya, the nicest of them all but she has a sharp tongue but you can’t know except you cross the line and dami
And the royal twins, Prince Darius and Princess Dahlia the youngest of the royal line and highschool student.
Though the King loved all his children but there was one that’s give him worries
Prince Damian Valerio, the one who never followed rules nor desired the throne.
He was the flame the court could not control
He is unpredictable, and unbothered by the weight of a crown he never wanted.
Council meeting
Inside the council room all the Elders of the council were seated waiting for the arrival of the king in order to commence with meeting.
Few minutes later the royal guard at the entrance announce the king arrival.
Every Elder rose immediately as the heavy doors opened.
The King entered, clothed in deep crimson robes lined with gold thread, his expression as unreadable as stone.
Behind him followed Kael, his trusted royal guard — tall, alert, and silent as a shadow.
The King took his seat at the head of the table, and the rest followed suit.
“Let us begin,” Ryker said simply.
Reports began — trade routes strengthened, treaties upheld, and the royal treasury in excellent condition.
But peace never lasted long in Eryndor’s court.
As the last Elder finished, a tense pause fell over the room.
Then Elder Garven, the oldest among them, cleared his throat and leaned forward.
“Your Majesty,” he began, voice low yet firm, “there is one matter I must raise and that concerns the royal family itself.”
King Ryker’s dark gaze lifted slowly. “Proceed.”
“It is about Prince Damian Valerio,” Garven said, carefully choosing his words.
“The second prince has once again drawn the attention of the people not for good reasons.”
A murmur spread across the table.
What’s has he done this time around,King Ryker asked.
“Your Majesty,” he began, bowing his head slightly, “it concerns Prince Damian once again. His behavior at Eryndor Royal College has become… troubling.”
The King’s gaze lifted, sharp and unreadable. “Troubling in what way?”
The head Chancellor has sent three different letters concerning his attitude and he doesn’t abide by the rules and also he has been seen at various bar, night parties but at sacred time and normal day
King Ryker’s jaw tightened slightly, though his voice remained calm. “Damian has always had a mind of his own.”
Garven inclined his head respectfully. “Indeed your Majesty but that mind now draws unwanted attention. He is intelligent and we can’t deny that but his reckless freedom is giving the court a bad name. Many fear he will drag the royal name into ridicule if this continues.”
Then he sat down waiting for the king reply but before the king could speak.
Elder Damon, the youngest among the council and a long-time friend of the king shifted in his seat before rising to speak.
“Your Majesty,” Damon began respectfully, “if I may speak on the matter of the second prince.”
King Ryker gave a small nod. “Go on.”
Damon clasped his hands behind his back. “With all due respect to Elder Garven, Prince Damian is not without merit Yes, he can be reckless perhaps a bit too free-spirited for courtly standards but he has also brought honor to Eryndor in ways many overlook.”
The room grew still.
Even Garven turned slightly, his wrinkled brow furrowing.
Damon continued, his tone firm but measured.
“He may not follow every rule, but the prince is brilliant and his academic records speak for themselves,he is the top of his class in strategy and innovation and despite his attitude, he commands respect among his peers at the Royal College. The younger nobles look up to him.”
Garven scoffed quietly. “Respect born from arrogance and defiance.”
Danon ignored him and looked toward the King. “Perhaps but it is also born from courage, my lord. Prince Damian dares to do what others fear he mingles with commoners not out of rebellion, but understanding. He believes leadership means knowing every layer of the kingdom even the streets that most of us choose not to see.”
The King’s gaze darkened with thought.
Damon went on, voice softer now. “He is his father’s son, bold and fiery but he is also sharp, calculating, and far more loyal than he lets anyone believe.”
For a moment, silence reigned.
Then Elder Lyria spoke quietly, “You speak as though you know the prince’s heart, Lord damon nut the court sees only his actions and they are reckless.”
“Reckless, yes but reckless youth often grows into the most extraordinary men.”Damon muttered.
King Ryker’s lips pressed into a thin line, unreadable.
The King was silent for a long moment, his fingers drumming against the armrest.
Finally, he said, “Enough.”
The room fell silent instantly.
“I am aware of Damian’s behavior… and I know what to do.”King ryker muttered
The council fell silent, exchanging wary glances.
Then King Ryker rose from the throne chair and walked out of court room with kael behind.
While the Elders kept murmurings inside the hall.
[KING PRIVATE CHAMBER]
Immediately king Ryker entered his chamber he removed the crown on his head and placed it on the crown space.
Then he went into his study and told kael to enter his study with him.
What do you think about today meeting, King Ryker asked.
Your Majesty Elder Damon is actually right likewise Elder gavern but I think the Prince need to be put in place, kael answered.
Then king Ryker felt a pain across his chest and then he hold his chest.
Immediately kael noticed he brought out the king drug and the king used it.
Your Majesty,” Kael began softly, “you should rest the physicians said the stress isn’t good for you.”
Ryker gave a faint, tired smile. “I’ve been ruling since before those physicians could walk, Kael I’ll rest when Eryndor no longer needs me.”
Then Ryker exhaled deeply.
Kael looked up in alarm. “Your Majesty—”
The King raised a hand. “Enough not a word of this to anyone,my health must remain a secret especially from the Queens.”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Kael replied immediately, bowing low.
Any report so far about the man i told you to look for,Ryker asked.
I have gone around and no seer goes by the name Malrick and I have gone to the outskirts of the kingdom no one bears that name,Kael answered.
Make sure to continue with the search I need to repay him the favour he did for me fifteen years ago and inform damian to come home tonight,King Ryker muttered.
Okay your majesty, kael muttered and the room became silent.
Inside the private lounge in the bar the Damian and his friends where seen having fun.
A lady was seen twerking on Cyrus laps while Damian was making out with one slut in the inner room inside the lounge.
Starr was busying sipping his drink and texting his girlfriend and he is the only saint among them.
Meanwhile Orion and kyren were busying dancing on the dance floor with stripper rocking them.
Then few minutes later the slut inside the inner room rushed out of the room and left the lounge then Damian came out if the room well dressed and sat down.
I can see you had a nice time inside, Cyrus muttered and signaled to the girls inside their private lounge to leave including the one on his laps.
Then Orion and kyren joined them.
Why did you signaled to the girls to leave, Orion asked.
We need to discuss guys Draco is trying to get on our nerves by sending his boys to attack us last night, Cyrus answered.
Let’s lay low for now and when will strikes they won’t be aware,Ryker muttered.
Holy Starr can’t you at least focus and take a glance away from your phone, kyren uttered.
I can hear what’s you guys are discussing about and what’s I’m doing on my phone is important,Starr muttered and smiled
Don’t tell me you are are chatting with Amaya geez what’s did she use on you,Cyrus muttered.
He knows better than anyone that’s I don’t joke with Amaya so let’s him give her the attention she deserves,Damian muttered
Heard you are going to the palace tonight,Starr muttered.
Yeah I need to go to the palace father sent for me so therefore you guys should enjoy the main party,Damian replied.
I’m also need to go to Avallion tonight, their is a royal gathering I must attend, Kyren muttered.
That’s the responsibility of being a prince, Cyrus teased and then they continue having their fun.
Then Damian and kyren left the lounge in their respective cars few minutes later.
[OUTSKIRTS]
Immediately Liora got home, she met her younger brother Julian in the living room.
He was just returning from school, his uniform slightly wrinkled, a half-eaten sandwich in hand and his backpack lying carelessly on the couch.
“Hey, sis!” he greeted cheerfully. “You’re home early didn’t you have lectures today?”
Liora tried to smile, but the heaviness in her chest made it difficult. “No lectures,” she said softly, dropping her bag on the chair.
Julian tilted his head, noticing the faint redness in her eyes. “You’ve been crying,” he said, his tone shifting instantly. “Who hurt you?”
She shook her head quickly. “It’s nothing, Julian just… school stuff.”
He frowned, walking closer. “School stuff doesn’t make you look like that tell me what’swromg.”
Liora sighed, her voice trembling slightly. “They revoked my scholarship they said I broke some school rules… but it’s not true.”
Julian froze. “What? Why would they do that?”
“Someone framed me.”
“Who?” he demanded, his expression darkening.
Liora hesitated then she explained the whole thing that’s happened to him
For a moment, silence filled the room.
The air grew heavier, the tension thick enough to cut through.
Julian blinked in disbelief.
You mean your best friend conived with Emily to destroy you,he asked
Liora nodded weakly. “Yes and emily she’s the one behind everything.”
Julian clenched his fists, anger flashing in his eyes. “That spoiled princess how dare her!”
“Julian, please—”
But before she could finish, Julian was already grabbing his jacket.
“Where are you going?” she asked, alarmed.
He turned, his eyes burning with fury. “No one treats my sister bad and goes scot-free.”
Then he left the house angrily.
The evening breeze blew dust across the road as Julian walked fast, his fists tight.
His heart burned with anger.
He called his best friend Leo.
“Meet me near Avillah Road Emily went too far.”
Minutes later, Leo arrived on his bike.
Together they spotted Emily laughing with her friends by the roadside.
Julian marched straight to her.
“Emily!” he called.
She turned, surprised. “who are you what’s your problem?”
“My problem?” He glared. “You ruined my sister’s name you got her scholarship taken away.”
Emily crossed her arms. “oh maybe she deserved it.”
Julian’s eyes darkened.
He grabbed her bag and threw it into the mud.
Everything inside the bag spilled outand became dirty and wet.
“That’s what you did to her dreams,” he said coldly. “Don’t ever go near Liora again i don’t care if you are rich, royal or anything but know my family is the most important thing to me and also no one treats my sister badly and goes free.”
Emily stood frozen, speechless.
Just then, a shiny luxurious car passed slowly down the road.
Inside sat a young princess, Princess Dahlia of Eryndor.
She was in her uniform and she watched the scene through the window, her eyes fixed on Julian.
Then, a small smile curved on her lips.
“Interesting,” she whispered, still watching him as the car rolled away………………..
